              "Best Family Reunion Ever!"

              5 of 5
We rented both Sundance and Redwood for our large family reuion with 14 adults and 23 children. We have rented beach houses and mountain houses in the past, but most declared this our best reunion ever. There was enough land around the houses for the children to run around and have a great time, and the houses were big enough to accomadate everyone. Of all the places we have rented, these houses were BY FAR the best equipped, particularly in the kitchens and pantries. How often can you pull olive oil out of rental cabinet and use it on your first night for your dinner? Another great feature was the amount of activities in the area. We felt we barely scratched the surface (Fallingwater, Ohiopyle, Fort Necessity, Flight 93 Memorial, Pittsburgh, and a ton of free state parks). We were even able to walk out the front door to a nice hike in the state park across the road. Another state park 10 minutes away has a lake with beach and boats for rent. My only caution applies to the upstairs room in Sundance that has the lofts. In hot weather, the A/C does not reach that room very well so it is hard to have people sleep there. A fan helped. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of. Again, most still rated it our best place ever, and we will likely use it for future reunions. Shari, the owner, is very responsivis and a pleasure to work with.

Jim and Sue are great hosts. Stonewood lodge is even better than the pictures show. The attention to detail is evident everywhere. The lodge is impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Everything you will need other than food is supplied. We are whitewater kayakers and the lodge is about 45 minutes from Ohiopyle State park where you can start your trip down the lower Youghiogheny river. There is plenty to do and we only began to explore this area. Another nice thing was that there were hardly any mosquito's and we were there during a very wet summer. There was seven in our group and everyone was very happy with our vacation. I would recommend this property to anyone. It will be hare to beat this vacation. Thanks Jim and Sue

My husband and i went with 6 other couples to the lodge and im excited about getting back there already! It was the most beautiful lodge with expertise in the selection of decor. It is a very memorable experience and every room was just stunning. Its a very clean and comfortable lodge that had great amenities (hot tub, pool and historic scenery further up the hill). This lodge is great for families, groups and events at any time of season.
