                      Great house in beautiful area

                      4 of 5
We greatly enjoyed our stay here and the kids loved meeting the animals on the property. The bedrooms are large and we liked the board games and puzzle provided. We took a hike at the nearby star park and really enjoyed the Amish house and farm tour in Lancaster. Highly recommend this property! The kitchen may be challenging for very tall folks (angled ceiling) and we wish a basketball was around to enjoy the back court. Next time!

                      Peaceful and Quiet Retreat

                      5 of 5
As soon as we parked in the driveway, Nate and Julia were there to greet us. They took us on a tour of the house and informed us of the history and how Nate had done a great deal of work to make the place the retreat that it has become. The space is more than the pictures can depict. We walked into a very large front room with two couches or might they be sofas. They did look in superb shape so I would use sofa although a couch is usually used more than a sofa would be. Just a little fun with words. We were guided to what I would refer to as the middle of the residence with another smaller couch which was very comfortable for two. This room was like being in a warm and inviting log cabin. There was a book shelf with a variety of books. I took one about Ireland and found it very interesting to sit in this serene, comfortable room and just have the book and quiet. I read an article which I found in a frame on the book shelf about Julia and her love of books. On to the kitchen .... full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, a tray full of herbal teas and Stevia which I happen to use as my sweetener so I was glad to see it. On the counter top was a tray with three freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. I did have them and they were soft and chewy and very delicious. Thank you Julia and Nate! The bedroom was warm and inviting. Looking out the window, I could see the stream down below. It was a chilly day, however, I opened the window and could hear the soothing stream. There is plenty of closet space in the bedroom and other areas. The bed was comfortable, and although it is a double bed, there was plenty of room for two. The bathroom was around the corner with a clean shower and amenities for bathing if needed. If you want to play music or CD's there is a player in the front room. There is no TV which is good as this is supposed to be a haven for peace and quiet. There is WiFi if needed or you can sit anywhere in the home especially in the "log cabin" room and read with no sounds at all. It really is that quiet! Thank you Julia and Nate for a wonderful experience and for the cookies.

                      Wonderful Stay! Girls get-a-way

                      5 of 5
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Nancy and Jack who then showed us to our place. There is a world map on the wall in the living area and we put a dot on the map where we live. It was fun to look and see where people were from all over the world. We arrived to a freshly baked banana bread that was delicious. It was a great location for the 3 of us ladies since we went to the Dutch Apple Dinner theater and the outlets. This place was right in the middle of both. It is in a residential neighborhood and maybe a mile away from Route 30 if that. It was very quiet. It is very spacious. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of places to put your clothes. Since we were there only one night, we didn't really unpack. The electric fireplace in the living room was nice to watch. There is a large flat screen TV in the living area. That was the only TV I saw. We never even turned it on. We all wanted to unwind and read instead. There were books to read if you didn't bring your own. They supplied bedding, towels, soap and shampoo. Cups, plates, paper towels were provided for anything you may have to warm up in the microwave. The refrigerator had some bottled water, and coffee, tea and other snacks were also available in the kitchen area. There was a small ironing board and iron if you needed and a blow dryer as well. The place was just perfect and if we come back, we would stay again. It was a great choice!
