Fantastic, comfortable, and fully-stocked home near Elk Mountain

                    5 of 5
My friends and I (A group of 6) stayed in Juanita's home for a weekend ski trip at Elk Mountain. We picked the home because of its relatively low cost, spaciousness, and proximity to Elk. We were not disappointed. Here are some of the highlights about the house that we really appreciated: 1) The beds were very comfortable. There were 6 beds in the house, so each person got their own bed (has never before happened on one of these trips). These were not beds that the owner purchased and placed in the home for the sake of saying they had X beds in the house on the house description. Plenty of blankets, towels, and linen to go around. I slept like a baby on mine, and was very well-rested after a day of skiing. I heard similar reviews from my friends. 2) The kitchen was fully stocked. There was almost every tool and cooking utensil that we could have asked for in the kitchen. Plenty of utensils, plates, bowls, and cups to go around as well. We fully utilized the outdoor grill during our time there. I think the built-in igniter did not work, but this was not a problem as there were plenty of lighters in the house. We did not end up using the stove in the living room, but it looked like it could have been fun. 3) Plenty of parking outside. We brought 4 cars and all four fit just fine. The drive to Elk is about 20 minutes. Probably one of the best parts about our stay was the simplicity. The cleanup and checkout operation were very smooth and minimal on our part. We simply had to leave any used towels in the laundry baskets, take out the trash, turn off the lights, and make sure the bed sheets were turned up when we left. Extremely simple. Thank you Ron, Cathy, and Juanita! We'd definitely rent out the house again if/when we return.

                    extended family getaway July1-11,2009

                    5 of 5
With 16 members of our family ranging in age from 8 months to 71 years we arrived for 10 days in what turned out to be our own private nature wonderland. The houses were comfortable and accomodated our family well. Most of our living was done in the larger house with one couple and several kids sharing the smallr house for sleeping. The lake, though small was adequate for the kids and for the swimmer among us. We boated in the flat bottom row boat provided and fished from the shore and the gazebo. Although no large fish chose to take our bait, the kids got a great kick out of catching the litte fish and throwing them back into their natural environment. Although we felt totally removed from civilization, the market and necessities of life were only a short distance away. Th owners provided excellent directions to towns and local attractions although we were content to just hang out on the property. The rasberry bushes were laden with ripe berries and picking and eating were more enjoyable activities. Thanks to the owners for providing us with the opportunity to enjo such a wonderful retreat.
