Decided on a mid-week getaway to a delightful town of New Hope, Pa, and it far exceeded our expectations. Not only is the village warm and inviting, but the locals are absolutely charming. We received our warm welcome from Kurt, who guided turn by turn into another world. He gave us the full tour which included his mother's cottage. This is where we first met Eleanor. What can I say but it is indeed a pleasure to have met such a gracious and charming lady. Later that afternoon she invited us for cocktails and appetizers before heading to the Inn for dinner. It was quite an experience to sit in a 800 year old cottage, being warmed by a roaring fire and the company of two delightful and knowledgeable people. I loved hearing the stories of the history of this quaint English village and how it was transposed into a world of it's own. We stayed in the Gothic Cottage which was setup to meet our every need. Tastefully decorated and so comfortable, it felt like home.We ate at so many lovely and delicious restaurants, roamed the streets of New Hope, and took in a live theater production of Rocky Horror at the Buck's County Playhouse. I need to mention that the quality of the production was equal to Broadway. Quickly our time passed and it was time to return to reality but not before saying our goodbyes. The time was bittersweet but I hope to return again soon. Would to leave love to experience Christmas there.
