Our group just returned from a long weekend at Eagle Lodge and have nothing but positive reviews. The description, including pictures of the lodge, is 100% accurate. After coming to Raystown Lake for several years now, we have never experienced it from the "top" and what a lasting impression it had on all of us. We had a party of 19, which included 11 adults and 8 kids that ranged in age from less than a year up to 10 years and each and everyone one of us were blown away by the lodge. The view from both the inside and outside living spaces was simply breath taking. The house was modern with a mountain-rustic feel and attention from the owners to every little detail from cleanliness to decor. The house had more than enough space for our large group with three large indoor communal gathering areas (kitchen/dining area, first floor living room and lower level living room) as well as various outdoor gathering areas including the upper deck, covered lower level patio area and all the surrounding grounds. Families were able to have their own space with each bedroom being a decent size with plenty of room to spread out and not be on top of one another with amply closet space (including hangers!). The house literally comes with everything you could possibly need on vacation from linens to bath towels and every kitchen type of utensil sold at Bed, Bath and Beyond! Some extra special features included: a second refrigerator in the garage (huge help with a big group); plenty of firewood, including starters; cleaning supplies; laundry detergent, binoculars for bird watching and ample (paved) parking for many vehicles. The location near the Shy Beaver boat launch was a huge positive as we were able to shuffle ppl on and off the boat all day long without investing a lot of time driving from the house to the launch. Last but not least, the owner Mike was incredibly responsive to all our questions throughout the booking process, planning of our trip and actual stay. Mike responded to questions almost immediately and we never felt like we were left in the dark about what we needed to bring, the area and specific questions regarding the lodge and Raystown area. We have always enjoyed our family trips to Raystown but this trip definitely stands out above the rest. We hope we never get that view of out of our heads!
