              Clean, natural, quiet, beautiful

The hosts are kind and down-to-earth, eco-friendly people. It was a joy to chat with them and to stay in their yurt and enjoy the property! There is a waterfall and beaver pond behind the yurt and we heard loons on the lake in the early morning. The woodstove kept us toasty warm and the lake made for some great polar bear dips! We look forward to going there again and again, in all seasons :)

              Absolutely Beautiful

              5 of 5
We went to the cottage with 4 couples for a long weekend. The weather was perfect for May and we enjoyed many hours on the dock just soaking up the sunshine and the spectacular view of the lake. It is so quiet and peaceful. The cottage was almost eveything we could dream of, with only one small glitch that we solved pretty quick. Large open space and lots of comfy couches and chairs and all windows facing the lake. The only thing we missed was a dining table so we could eat together. But like we said, we dealt and worked it out. Thank you so much Julie for renting your cottage, we hope we can enjoy it again sometime. Diane

We Will Be Back! It was Heaven!

First, this is no cottage - it is a beautifully decorated, expansive, historical home. (It is actually in the Huntsville History Book on the coffee table) Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Archie. (Whom has been our Point Person from the moment of inquiry to the moment of arrival and throughout our entire visit - he's great!) He walked us through the house and went over everything we needed to know....and within an hour we were floating along a tranquil river that flows into Mary Lake in kayaks and paddle boards they have for rent. Our float was followed by a wonderful sunset BBQ and an inviting dip in the hot tub that evening. Our next day we awoke to birds singing, sunshine shining, deer grazing across the fields, a family of geese hanging by the river, and horses in the upper fields..I actually thought I'd died and gone to heaven! We enjoyed our morning coffee in one of the sunrooms and made our breakfast in the beautiful kitchen and then went for a hike. They make their own maple syrup in the spring so we were able to hike all over the 300 acre property and came across yet another lake that seemed to be abundant in fish because they were jumping everywhere so we headed back and picked up our fishing rods and spent the rest of the morning fishing off this huge rock...it was super fun! That afternoon we all went into Huntsville which is only a 10 minute drive from the farm, and had an early dinner at a fantastic Thai restaurant (I can't remember the name but its the only one in town). We then headed back to the farm because we wanted to have a game of Bocce.. the lawns are immaculately kept and there are acres of them so we HAD to get in a game of Bocce and frisbee before our departure in the morning. Morning was a sad time for me I must admit :( I nor any of our party wanted to leave but we had to get back to the city that afternoon. Needless to say, we have already booked another weekend in the fall! Thank you Archie for offering such an amazing accommodation. Your property is a true gem!
