We were only there for one night, but the cottage itself is excellent, and for the most part easy to find. Marcus' directions via email were more than adequate and Google Maps will pick up the place just fine!
More than enough space for the four of us with great amenities, particularly anything on the first floor! The downstairs was surprising; I didn't expect it to have as much natural light as it did, plus it's own entrance off the side... just a great layout overall, really!
Patio was great for cooking and hanging out. It might have been just us not figuring it out, but a light for the patio that could be consistently turned on versus a motion sensor would be ideal for post-BBQ hangout time. Again, we might not have been turning on the right switches.
Marcus is great to work with and very flexible. Our trip was very "in flux", but Marcus had no trouble with our version of time and still made an effort to come check in on us and make sure we were comfortable. I should also mention Marcus has done a great job laying out local tourism information in the cottage, including penciling in times things are open or providing notes for when is best to go. That goes a long way for someone completely new to the area.
While the view is great, you can't access the water directly from the property, though it's only a short distance to a local trail that'll take you down. The property itself ends at a cliff (well fenced) with a drop down to the water/beach below. Thought to be honest, in this area you won't spend too much time on this beach as the tides are very high and will come straight up to the rock face.
Marcus has compensated for lack of direct beach access with an excellent, well stocked and well positioned fire pit that's ideal for roasting marshmallows, taking in some mostly uninterrupted night sky and watching the moon rise over the basin. Trust me when I say we didn't miss the beach!
Highly recommend, particularly for families or those looking for a quiet, well-equipped, cottage experience.
