                        Amazing location

                        5 of 5
The House Eh is magical. It's wraps you in relaxation! Everything has been thought of at EH. We loved the decor, so eclectic and soothing. Our vacation felt like we were visiting a friends home rather than a rental. Lunenb erg is a charming, friendly town and Mahone Bay is so pretty. The Rose Bay grocery had any extras needed and lobster from Crowders was the best I've ever tasted.

                        A wonderful retreat!

                        5 of 5
We spent an amazing week at this wonderful retreat! The cottage is beautifully appointed. We enjoyed the incredible views from the porch, watching the sun set every evening was a highlight of our day. The library is outstanding and there are so many games you don't even miss not being connected. Our boys thought it was the best place ever when they discovered the bin of Lego and stacks of comic books in their room! The cool breezes at night and absolute silence made for wonderful sleeping. We will definitely be back! The area has some wonderful beaches, Crescent Beach, Cherry Hill Beach and Rissers were our favourites. The LaHave bakery is a great place for lunch. Don't miss the Maritime Painted Saltbox, the art is incredible and the artists are so much fun to talk to! The LaHave Island Marine Museum is a must see!

                        Captain's Rest - A Vacation Treasure

                        5 of 5
We truly loved staying at the Captain's Rest! We were soaking in every bit of it. We loved the home, the yard, the reading rooms, and we especially enjoyed our gracious host, Gerhard who made sure that our every need was met and more! It had been several years since we took our family to vacation in Nova Scotia. This time, my husband and I were escorting my brother and his wife on their first trip to the Atlantic Provinces. We wanted a very special place and we found it in Captain's Rest. Our host was very accommodating in every regard, making a point to let us know that this was our special time and he wanted to make sure that we had a pleasant and leisurely stay. The house is very spacious, yet charming at the same time. There was always a place to read or chat or play games. The backyard was private and peaceful, looking over the LaHave River. Crisp mornings listening to the birds and beautiful sunsets over the LaHave River were just a step outside our door! Many mornings were spent walking to the LaHave Bakery or simply strolling along stopping in at different local artists' homes where they were selling their works. We spent our afternoons at nearby Risser's beach or travelling to Lunenberg or Halifax, Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay - so many places to see, so many things to do! A perfect place to call home when you are away!
