                        Recent Indian Brook Reviews

A lovely home in a fabulous location!

                        5 of 5
What a wonderful place to relax -- clean, comfortable, atmospheric, lovingly-maintained, and everything you need right at hand. The location, just minutes from the Cabot Trail, is ideal. The studios of ten different artists and artisans are within a short drive, as are at least two gentle walking trails, and from the beach one can see seabirds and seals. Danny is a most considerate, interesting and helpful host. The Bosun's Chair is a treasure!

Good location for touring Cape Breton!

                        5 of 5
The Tarbotvale House worked very well for our family of four (two adults and two college-aged sons). The house was fairly central to many activities on Cape Breton. The house was equipped with the basic necessities. The beds are super comfortable, and our eldest son enjoyed sleeping in his tent in the backyard. The heat worked great during a cold and rainy day! We crammed in quite a lot of activities during our 5 night stay, but we all agreed our favorite eatery was Moe's in Englishtown. His fish n' chips tasted especially good after a nice hike to Uisge Ban Falls outside of Baddeck. The Clucking Hen in North Shore (just 10 minutes up the road) was perfect for Morning Glory muffins and Cinnamon Rolls in the morning. Dinner at Lobster Galley (about 15 minutes away) was very nice. Make sure to reserve a table at the window overlooking St Anns Bay. The Red Island Trail hike is just a few minutes away and offers views of 3 waterways, including the ocean, the Barrachois River and Big Pond. Marcelle, the host, was very nice and accommodating. We especially appreciated the guest book that included all sorts of information about the house's history and things to do.
