You will not be disappointed renting any property from these owners! We had 18 people (9 adults and 9 youth 12-16) stay at The Gables. It is clearly a newly built house with absolutely no wear. The house was everything that we had hoped....space in the basement with ping pong for kids, deck area for getting some sunshine, area for fire pit at night with s'mores, and so much space inside. I loved the stone shower in the master! We could all be in kitchen to eat together, play games etc. given there are 2 high pub too tables plus a large kitchen table and there was a huge dining table as well where we had a puzzle set up. Every person had a bed and they were very comfortable with memory foam pillows. Each room was decorated very nicely. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies including a Keurig coffee pot. Although we were outside of Asheville, it is not a far distance. The house sits up on a hill across the street from a lovely farm. The exterior fireplace wasn't working when we arrived, and they immediately sent someone out to check it and it was repaired the next day given a part was needed. The only improvement we would offer would to put an extra bath upstairs supporting the end bedroom and add privacy doors in the upstairs bathroom that would allow one to close a door to the interior section - when you have 2 non related families sharing those adjoining bedrooms, it would be nice to stand at the sink but not have to see the others...if that makes sense. More like a true Jack n Jill bathroom. The other very positive thing we have to mention is the kindness, responsiveness and attentiveness of the owner and the proven honesty of their cleaning crew. One of the kids left their wallet behind. Not only were we contacted soon after our departure but the wallet was mailed back to the parent at no charge and the contents (cash and gift cards) were in tact! That in itself is worth ABOVE 5 stars. Thanks for helping us make a great memory!
