                      Nice property with great amenities

                      4 of 5
We stayed in this home the week of July 2-9, 2016. Our party consisted of 6 kids between the ages of 2 & 12 and up to 14 adults (2 adults left mid-week). We never felt crowded, and had no problem gathering for meals and hanging out on the top floor where the kitchen and living area are located. The bedrooms were spacious and clean as were the bathrooms. The bottom floor game room with foosball and pool tables was a lot of fun and of course everyone enjoyed the pool and easy beach access. We really appreciated the multiple decks on the house, especially the screened porch on the front. It was nice to have decks on both sides of the house to use when the sun was bearing down on the opposit side. The house had a couple of minor maintenance issues while we were there. Carolina Designs Realty was very responsive and came out and fixed a broken bathroom faucet for us that we found upon arrival and adjusted the back door to the pool to make it close fully. This door probably needs to be replaced as it never did open and close easily and even the oldest kids needed an adult to help them close it when going in and out. Be aware that although the description of the house says parking for 9 cars, there's really only space for about 5-6. Overall, the size, layout, amenities, and proximity to local attractions (walking distance to Jeanette's Pier and about a 10 minute drive from Bodie Island Lighthouse) make this house a great place to stay for a large group.

                      BEAUTIFUL

                      5 of 5
My husband and I and 10 other people stayed in this lovely, clean home and never felt crowded. There was plenty to do and places to be in the home.

Stunning views for the perfect getaway house

                      5 of 5
My husband and I rented this house for a get away with friends the first week of March. From the moment we entered the house we were blown away!! Location: Looks just like the pictures online. The house is in a GREAT location. The beach is just across the road giving fantastic views from all the decks on the front of the house. We made the 60 second talk to the beach almost every day. The back of the house over looks Jockeys Ridge. We were just minutes from the outlet mall in one direction and the Wright Brothers Monument in the other. Everything was at our fingertips. The house is situated so there is always sun and a breeze. House: When we arrived the house was well cleaned (even to my OCD standards) and in good order. The bedrooms were nice and spacious and had ample closet space. There was more than enough space for everyone in our group, enough that everyone still had their own bathroom. The multiple porches were great, we spent most of our time outside. The men in our group loved the pool table on the first level. The extra fridge downstairs was great for drink storage. The hot tub was nice, a bit smallish for our 8 people, but still nice to have. The kitchen was well lit and I liked that whoever was cooking felt like part of the group in the kitchen and living room, but it was not meant for someone who liked to cook or even for a group that was trying to cook for 8. There were enough regular dishes, but the cookware itself was meant more for 4 or maybe 6 people. It was difficult to cook for 8+ people in smaller pots and pans. We made it work! The large dining room table was great for family style dinners. Owner: Bill was great to work with. He responded promptly to all of my emails and made sure I had all the right information before we arrived at the house. Bonus: The little crows nest spot off the living room was a crowd favorite. For the whole week we were there, there was hardly a time when there wasn't someone in the comfy chair. With 180 degree views of the ocean, it's a hard spot to beat! We made our trip in the off season and I couldn't be happier about it. The house is set close to the neighbors (as are all the houses on this road and most of the houses on OBX) and being off season, there were no neighbors peering in windows. It almost felt like we had the area to ourselves. The weather was perfect, 50s-70s all week, and there was no crowding at any of the local attractions. Best trip we've taken in a long time!
