Must-see for any history buff - a very cool place to stay!

        5 of 5
As a history teacher, I was intrigued by this place (and on a teacher's salary, it will be the nearest I get to staying in a real castle...). Upon arriving, I recommend you devote an hour just to looking around the inside of the cabin - swords, shields, and eclectic furniture abound - and be sure to look for all the deadly sins! Then, explore the trail outside to learn more about Scottish heritage - be sure to greet the visitor downstairs over the drawbridge. I greatly enjoyed wandering around the cabin and property, and look forward to staying there when everything is finished downstairs. I've stayed in many cabins in Murphy over the year, but this was definitely the most interesting, and will only get better as the improvements continue. I can't wait to check it out again! My only issue with this place is that it wasn't nearly as "secluded" as it sounded in the description, and the nearby cabins and play areas were not very well kept-up and could actually be quite dangerous if you were not careful. Note that this was nearly a year ago, and perhaps things have been cleaned up around the area.
