You could get to anywhere in Manhattan or Brooklyn in minutes from this location . No thirty minute walk to the apartment or train. Thirty seconds out the front door you're in your train. Not a single person in our group of eight took a single cab in the seven days there. That's never happened. I've never stayed anywhere like it. If you just walked Union Square it could take you two weeks to see everything. High end restaurants to affordable Supermarkets within a three minute walk . Everyone in our group loved it.
Owners are honest, and fantastic to deal with. Very attentive. Apartment can easily handle eight adults. Maybe ten if you don't mind sharing two very nice bathrooms . Enormous rooms, ceilings, kitchen and media room. You have the entire floor as the elevator let's you off in the living room ! If you had to choose between this and two or three hotel rooms, you'd be crazy not to take this. We had a family dinner after my Dad's funeral and the kitchen had seating for 14 guests!
Full size washer and dryer. Huge refrigerator / freezer. You might bring your favorite pillow, but anything you forget you can pick up pretty easily . If I could afford the place, I'd buy it. I've been staying in NYC for a long time and was never so happy about my digs as my whole family was this time.
Cons: Could probably use some steak knives, taller glasses, and a bigger kitchen garbage can. We brought scrubbers , I didn't see any washcloths. Could probably use more towels.
Pro's: You get to stay in a place that very few will ever get to stay in for the cost of two or three "closets " in midtown. It will impress any guests you're entertaining for sure.
You're in the coolest, hippest most convenient part of the city where everything from a hot dog to a high end Italian dinner costs half of what it does in Times Square. If you have an issue, Chris is serious about resolving it. We stayed during New Years so we paid up s bit. If it were low season it would have really been a value.
