Every year in September we choose to celebrate my birthday out of town. We live in New York and we need to get away from the crazy city...when I saw the picture of this cottage, I thought it was so unique, I wanted to be there! and we were not disappointed! The place is secluded, yet not isolated and it is equipped with everything... we did a barbecue and a fire...perfect way to say goodbye to summer! But what makes it unique by the way, is the man behind it.. George is worth the trip on its own, so kind and nice, he welcomed us with a happy birthday sign and champagne to celebrate! and he has so many stories to tell... we are Italian and he made us feel home again... we will be back!

The sweetest Catskills cottage there is!

                    5 of 5
What a find! This cottage has it all! My husband and I spent three glorious days here in late September 2016. We cannot wait to return. The drive to Halcottsville from NYC is through some of the most lovely scenery the Catskills offers. The beauty of the Halcottville area is hypnotic, and the moment you arrive at the cottage, you're transported to a gentler, simpler, no-stress reality. The cottage itself is the definition of "charming." Perched on a hill, well off the quiet country road, it has an amazing view of the bucolic countryside. Just down the road (less than a mile), there are hiking trails and Lake Wawaka where you can rent kayaks and have a very relaxing time paddling the lake while enjoying the quiet, the scenery, and a watching a nice variety of birds. The cottage is perfect. The finishes are very high-end, and it's equipped with everything you need to settle into immediate relaxation. The kitchen is modern and well appointed. It has everything necessary to cook meals at home. The floor-plan is open with a large living/dining area. The screened in porch is a wonderful place to read, play games, enjoy the sounds of nature, or enjoy a meal. The living room is perfect for watching a movie on the large flat panel TV. The cottage has a nice selection of board games and DVD's available for the guests. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. All this and great owners too. Ray and Jerry were great with all communication and were easily reached and quickly responsive. Highly recommended!

Peaceful and great value escape in the Catskills.

We had a wonderful 9 days stay at the cottage. Richard was very easy to deal with and quick to provide us with any further information we needed. The cottage is set in picturesque grounds with glimpses of mountains though the trees. Great for birdwatching and a roomy deck for just sitting, reading and enjoying the tranquility of it all. The cottage itself is very characterful, and basically but comfortably furnished, as advertised. It was also very clean on arrival. Great shower and really fast internet too! The town of Margaretville is an easy 10min drive, there is also a good farm stand nearby and a farmers market . All in all, a perfect, good value escape from the city and an ideal place to enjoy life's simple pleasures. We hope to return. Thanks!
