We rented the farmhouse because it was about half way between our son and daughter in law's home and ours. We arrived Wednesday night and found the house warm and inviting with the lights on, the beds made and pretty fall decorations on the table. On Thursday, Thanksgiving, our host welcomed us with 18 fresh eggs from her chickens. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner with the stocked kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and dishes, along with a few from home and enjoyed a day of food, family and fellowship. We fed the donkeys carrots and took a walk around the property. The rest of the weekend we toured the area, taking in Howe Caverns, a day trip to Saratoga Springs, lunch at a cafe, browsing some local shops, returning each day to our comfortable home away from home. As we were packing the car to leave Sunday, our host greeted us again to thank us for coming, hope we had a good visit and wish us a safe trip home. We would definitely rent this property again. Post Office, banks, convenience stores, gas stations, a brew pub, and many small family oriented restaurants are within short driving distance in Middleburgh or north in Schoharie. There are also several farm stands in the area. This scenic farm can easily sleep eight people and provides plenty of quiet time during your vacation stay. The owner is available for problems but is unobtrusive and certainly the farmhouse and surrounding farmland feels as if you are the homesteader in Upstate NY. This is a delightful property to consider when looking for a VRBO west of Albany NY.
