A beautiful, charming, quiet place to stay !

              4 of 5
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and charming. We loved that the property was spacious, and that it was right by the water. I felt comfortable here. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay. This is just what we needed! The listing description was very accurate. WIFI included, which was awesome considering we planned most of our activities via use of internet on our phones. No air conditioning. However, there were ceiling fans in every room and a lot of windows. The home had great air circulation. The house temperature was comfortable here. My family and I visited the surrounding cities such as Burlington, Smuggler's Notch/Stowe, and Underhill where Mt. Mansfield is located. Each of these areas were between 45minutes to hour drive with scenic views. I gave this property four stars as I wish the beach area was more accessible. To get by the water, you have to climb over rocks. This was not a problem for our family as we hike, and there were only 4 feet of rocks to get over. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

              Wonderful Long Weekend Get Away!

              5 of 5
Betsy and Matt were wonderful hosts. The accommodations were perfect for what we were looking for. The house was clean and well sell set up for the two of us, although if you bring family members or another couple you will have plenty of room and privacy. There are 2 full baths, washer and dryer, dishwasher and the sheets, towels are included plus the kitchen set up for cooking (including a grill) you will need to bring very little. The view is amazing from the deck and the dock. The water was very low when we stayed (all of NE is in a draught) so swimming would have been a challenge if we decided to do so. We spent some evenings hanging out on the deck with a wonderful sunset and a bottle of wine - perfect! We arrived there was a heatwave in Vermont and the house does not have AC, so if you are going in the summer during a hot spell be aware of that. They do have fans for your use, which are very noisy. We did bring our own fan, so it was ok but not great for sleeping. Once the heat wave left, the nights were much more comfortable. The WIFI was spotty and a bit slow, Matt came to work on it, but it was still a bit slow. Also, there is no TV which did not matter to us, but some people may not care for that. If you are looking for a really good bagel - make sure you go to Wally's Bagel Shop in South Hero. Dinner at the Blue Paddle is a must - also in South Hero. As for local places of interest visit Shelburne Museum, it's an all day event even two days - loads of things to see and explore. If you want some fun for shopping and dining go to Burlington Church Street, very cool place. UVM is another great place to walk around and take in. If you have young children the Shelburne Farm is the place to visit. There are state beaches and many free places to park and enjoy the lake for swimming and picnicking. As for adult beverages - well.... there are so many breweries plus a couple of vineyards too. Lets just say 4 days in the area were not enough! We highly recommend this Homeaway place. We throughly enjoyed our stay and we look forward to coming back another time for another long weekend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage.

We rented the cottage to attend a wedding at the Grand Isle Lake House. It is in a beautiful location, on the water and away from busy roadways. It was very conveniently located near our event, and it was clean, quiet and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. We highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
