                    First Class

                    5 of 5
This is a really nice property located in the Gore Mountain region of the Adirondacks. Very well appointed with nice antiques and artwork, and in a secluded area off the beaten path. Porches front and back, spacious interior and plenty of windows. Has all modern appliances throughout the cabin and plenty of kitchen ware. No cell service (you're in the mountains, after all) but the owners provide a landline and excellent Wi-Fi with HDTV's. Plenty of hiking in the vicinity (our particular pleasure), within a mile from the Hudson river. Be sure to stop by Barkeater's Chocolate shop, and take in the nearby Garnet Hill Lodge (Loghouse) restaurant, historic with beautiful views from the porch dining area and excellent food. Owners communicated promptly regarding rental, directions, etc. and were helpful regarding things to do in the area with lots of literature (plus many trail maps!) and area magazines in the cabin. Property was very clean with plenty of linens, soap, etc. We would highly recommend this cabin. .

Rustic, Private and Perfect for us!

                    5 of 5
Twas only a short night, and a late one at that, but Leslie handled everything beautifully. Sammy Dog welcomed us warmly while swaths of stars flashed down from the big sky. 6 of us filled the house easily, slept very well, and then woke to enjoy coffee and our packed breakfast goodies, as the sun burned off some mist from a late summer morning in the hills around us. We are simple travelers and this suited us great. House was almost completely restored (plumbing, electricity, etc,) but Leslie and crew carefully retained all the original touches of floorboards, woodwork, windows, plus lamps, furniture and knickknacks, all of which we loved. We missed most of the great nearby sights (and sites!) mentioned, but were delighted by local market and scenery as we continued trek to Indian Lake and then farther north. Simple, clean and rustic, and ever so hospitable; for the adventurous and outdoorsy, (not those seeking plush carpet, pampering and pillow chocolates). We will happily stay again when back in the Adirondacks area, which is now a definite new place for us to visit! Thanks, Leslie (and Sammy...)!

                    Fun times! Great getaway!

Leslie was a very great host and we enjoyed seeing the farm and the conversation! She rented us some kayaks and took them down to 13th Lake for us, which was a peaceful and quiet spot. First time glamping and as someone that usually does back country camping, this was a nice treat and way better than staying in a hotel room. Room was comfortable and the bonfire in the evening was a nice touch.
