          Our Week at Windago

          5 of 5
On the same day we requested to book the Windago Cottage, the owner called us stating he was pleased to receive our request. He shared with us a lot of information about the cottage and the Youngstown and Niagara Falls area. He followed up with an email which we referenced throughout the week while making our daily plans. Upon arrival we found the cottage to be just as pictured and described, neat, clean and homey. We had everything we needed to make us feel like we had our own little home away from home. On cool mornings, the gas heater warmed us up nicely while we ate our breakfast and got ready to leave for the day. We stored my husband's fishing gear and our empty suitcases in the guest cottage so we had plenty of room in the main cottage. As we got acclimated to the area, we realized how close we were not only to the Niagara Falls attractions and Canada, but also to the surrounding towns and all the wonderful home style restaurants and diners. The list of restaurants provided by the owner was helpful and we tried many of them during the week. We learned a lot of the area’s history when we went to Fort Niagara. We also found the history behind the Freedom Crossing and Tuscarora Monuments in Lewiston to be very interesting. We said to each other, more than once, that we were so happy we found the cottage and made the choice to stay there away from the hustle and bustle of the Niagara Falls area and the big hotels. We enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the privacy. The neighbors we met were friendly and helpful and beautiful Lake Ontario was just a stone's throw away. The property manager replied promptly to a phone message we left for him upon departure. Our vacation was wonderful and the weather cooperated. We did everything we wanted to do including taking in all of the usual tourist attractions and going to Canada. We had a lot of fun! We would stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to others.

Great spot for Girls Getaway to Niagara on the Lake

          5 of 5
We visited this property in late September for a girls getaway. Property was exactly as described online. The home was spotless and included everything we needed. We had planned to go to a play in Niagara on the Lake and this location was perfect for commuting to that destination. We also visited the towns of Lewiston and Youngstown. The book the owner has prepared for renters includes information about the history of the area and the home. We used the book for recommendations of places to visit and good restaurants. When we arrived the owner even had provided some basics like orange juice, coffee and snacks. Working with Liza was pleasant and enjoyable.!

My family of 7 (including my husband and I, and both adult children and children under 10) stayed in this wonderful house. Nancy and Tom were a delight to work with and stayed in touch with us through the planning process. Tom met us at the house and gave us a warm welcome. The house was very clean and well maintained. There was a map of Niagara Falls which he kindly reviewed with us and told us of other local things to do. Nancy informed us of some of the festivals going on that weekend which was appreciated. There was cheese and fruit awaiting us and even popsicles for the kids. These extra touches were very thoughtful. They were very accomodating and very fair and thoughtful in their interactions. This was the first time we have rented a house and they made the experience extremely positive and something I would do again without hesitation. We built great memories at this house with our family, and this will go down as one of the best family vacations we have had. Thanks so much Tom and Nancy for contributing to a very memorable, enjoyable vacation.
