We are so happy to have come across this vacation home. Diane and Tony have taken a comfortable old farmhouse with a beautiful view of Seneca Lake and turned it into a wonderful retreat. The house is instantly welcoming - clean, spacious, beautiful hardwood floors, lovely porch overlooking the lake, comfortable beds and an overall peaceful environment. It feels very private as there is greenery and fence between neighbors and is situated on a bit of property perfect for viewing the sunset.
We found the location for sightseeing to be perfect. 10-15 minutes from Watkins Glen - which is truly spectacular. Very close to nice restaurants, wineries, breweries, shops and stores. (love the Stone Cat Cafe, Two Goats Brewing, Skyland Art Barn, Ben & Jerry's, Seneca Harbor Station) Only about 30-40 minutes to great parks in Ithaca - Robert Treman, Taughannock, Buttermilk Falls, etc. Driving around the area is enjoyable too - lots of woods, views of the lakes, farmland. Also good for exploring the beautiful campus of Cornell and downtown Ithaca (Be ready for traffic downtown and avoid rush hour if you can). It was great to take my Mom to the iconic Moosewood Restaurant in Ithaca :)
Our host was helpful and in communication with us whenever we needed anything. The house also had many booklets and maps to help with our day trip planning. We hiked, swam and kayaked and had a restful home base to return to every evening. It was really lovely. We would gladly return and will definitely recommend to friends.
