It took me 20 hours of internet hunting to find this slice of heaven and not one moment was wasted. Cozy but spacious, understated but no creature comfort was denied. Oprah would be happy staying at Spruce Lake Farm. The occasion was my Mom's 85 Birthday party. My vacationing group is an Ortho surgeons dream. To date the group of 6 has had 7 hip operations, 2 knees completed and 4 more knee operations needed, couple of blood clots, bulging discs and my Senior Mother is not included in this count. I was searching for a vacation home where the group could be comfortable, entertained and able to get away from it all. Adam's house was the perfect package and went far beyond my expectations. Bringing a good fry pan and knife are always part of my travel bag , it was not needed. The kitchen being well stocked is an understatement. There is a collection of Villeroy and Boch serving dishes that will make any foodie smile. The mattresses were wonderful. Can you imagine no one in the group complained with all those broken bodies. All got a great night sleep and of course there were numerous naps. There are two large TV sets but NOT IN THE LIVING ROOM!!! Tears of joy rain down my face. No MSNBC, Football, Dancing with the Stars or game shows in the main living area. There is a God!! The TV's are in separate parts of the building so anyone that has to connect with the crazy outside world can. That being said the internet connection was great for those of us that had to connect for work. Four bedroom vacation homes often have inadequate seating in the living room area. One couch and one chair wasn't going to take care of my gang and sitting on the floor could have been a disaster! There is ample seating in every area of the house and deck. Now I should share, I almost didn't rent because there are a couple of stuffed animal heads mounted in the dining room. I had been a vegetarian for 30 years and I can get a little emotional around stuffed animals. Well I decided to count the leather shoes in my closet and get over myself and I am so glad I did otherwise I would have missed the slice of heaven called the Spruce Lake Farm. Stop looking, it doesn't get better than this! And as far as the return of my security deposit. It was mailed to me within a day of our departure.

Gorgeous stay in a truly special place.

We enjoyed impeccable hospitality during our stay. The grounds are wonderful and the house is every bit as beautiful as the photos would suggest. In the morning, we enjoyed gourmet breakfast and tea from Spillian's kitchen. We spent afternoons and evenings exploring the Catskills based on Mark's expert knowledge of the area. We only rented a suite (w/ private bathroom) rather than the whole home, but I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone- especially those looking for a special venue in which to hold a retreat, gathering, or reunion of any kind.
