Quiet, uncluttered, elegantly rustic log cabin tucked away in the woods near a stream. You can't see anyone else from the cabin--just woods. It has a large, well-equipped cook's kitchen. Super-comfortable beds, couches, and chairs. Nice linens and pillows. Lots of good-quality games and books. Wonderful glass-front wood stove and easily-accessed wood supply for evenings by a fire. Upstairs 4-bed bunk room with its own couch area and TV is great for teens to get away from the adults. We were delighted there was no TV downstairs, encouraging us to read/socialize. But if you're a TV addict bring tablets or laptops to watch Netflix (WiFi is reliable and fast, so streaming worked fine). 20 minutes from Windham, which is where we went snowboarding for several days. Really cool, well-built treehouse (with fireman's pole!) in woods behind house. Looking forward to visiting again.
Stairway to second floor is dangerously steep, with uneven step pitch. And the upstairs balcony over the living room needs an additional lower railing. So the place is probably not for toddlers or the elderly.
The single bathroom is downstairs, so anyone with frequent nighttime needs should probably sleep in the downstairs bedroom.
Kitchen could use a microwave (although we got good at heating leftovers on the stove).
Front porch needs some support work.
