                          Quaint chalet in the woods

                          4 of 5
The chalet was in a very nice location, close to town and close to some really nice hikes. The house was clean, comfortable, and stock with all the necessities for a short weekend getaway. Adam was very helpful, pointing to some great eating spots and hikes. Completely enjoyed our stay! Thank you for sharing your home!

Escape from the busy life to relax and enjoy this beautiful home and Crooked Lake. Rented this home for the first time for a small family reunion with our son who’s in the Navy and my wife’s sister’s family. The home has a great open concept layout, lots of room to spread out including, 4 bedrooms and a pull out couch. There were 9 of us but we never felt cramped. Most of our time was spent outside. The lake itself is a private lake which has many perks including not being very busy and the other boaters we encountered were very respectful. I think these 2 items made this place extra special and would always make me want to come back. If you’ve spent any time at all boating or fishing in the state parks you can relate to how some people can act and who likes to deal with that. The fishing was excellent, very clear water. View from the huge deck is outstanding. Kids and parents had lots for fun with the kayaks, row boat or just floating on our rafts. Our next favorite activity was the fire pit, it’s right by the lake and what a great way to end the day. The property itself was very clean and well maintained, owner provided great customer service and would recommend staying here.

Excellent mountain getaway in the Catskills.

Mountain Magic Cottage was awesome. We stayed there for 4 days during the Mountain Jam music festival at Hunter Mountain. The cottage is rustic but spacious and very comfortable. But the property is the real prize . It sits on a beautiful plot of land near Maplecrest, NY. Batavia Kill, a large mountain stream, runs on the property 100 feet or so from the back door of the cottage. Idyllic. Very peaceful and quiet. Agnes, the owner, lives in the B&B that is also on the property. She is wonderful. Goes the extra mile to make your stay a great experience. Always available but never underfoot. She is very helpful with recommendations from everything to restaurants in nearby Windham, NY to the best local hiking trails. This is a great place to re-charge away from the city. At night the only thing you'll hear is the rushing water of the stream in the background and in the morning the only sound is the local birds singing. As much as we enjoyed the music festival, some of the best moments of the trip were just sitting at the picnic table on the cottage's back porch in the evening while talking and soaking up the scenery. We'll definitely be back.
