      Great time in Staten Island!

This is such a neat home! Overall, we had a fantastic time! Very easily accessible by bus from the Ferry. The house is a Victorian-style home, with plenty of beds. It did get a little hot in the common areas, because there were only air conditioning units in the bedrooms. The yard needed a little maintenance, and we had an experience with a man claiming he was staying in the home who was not. Besides that, we had a fantastic time, and I would recommend for the great price and location!

Fantastic Peace of Mind with great atmosphere and scenery

      5 of 5
We went to the New Dawn with a few friends for a quiet weekend getaway from NYC. It was easy to get to on the Metro-Northfrom Grand Central Station to New Rochelle, plus 5 min. taxi ride. We brought our own food and had a wonderful quiet dinner with our friends on the back patio. On Saturday my wife attended one of their Saturday programs while I worked on my laptop, looking out at the water through the lovely leaded glass windows. The evening was rainy and the mist off the water was moody and calming. It was so incredibly beautiful to watch the changing light on the water, and the moon rising, and during the day, sailboats and kayaks passing by. The downstairs furnishings were grand, and the old-fashioned lights at night lent a wonderful old-world atmosphere. I think the most pleasant part was having brought with us everything we needed so that we did not have to deal with cars, grocery stores, restaurants, or any other people. It was restful and replenishing. On Sunday afternoon we called a taxi and got to the train station in less than 10 mins. It was an easy trip that felt great.
