                  A peaceful, cozy, wonderful getaway!

                  5 of 5
My girlfriend and I recently stayed here for four days and three nights for a peaceful getaway for my 26th birthday. The property and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. When we arrived, the house was very clean, and true to the pictures online. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and easy to navigate, the bathroom was clean, and the living area was spacious and comfortable. A small binder with information about the house and surrounding area was left out for us. We spent a lot of time on the porch, we used the grill, and Phil left us plenty of firewood and firestarters for the fire pit, and of course we made smores. As soon as we arrived, the house felt like our own cozy home, and we forgot it was a rental. We filled the fridge with our own food and cooked together every night. There are board games and movies, (look in the sudoku puzzle book, we finished one and signed it), and plenty of lounging space inside. A 5-10 minute walk (or short drive) on a dirt road from the house is Crescent Lake. Phil left oars and life jackets in the house, and keys for the kayaks that are locked up right by the shore. My girlfriend and I enjoyed a trip out onto the lake together in a double kayak. The lake is clean and clear, just as described. The one thing that made this trip perfect, besides the much needed solitude (it's incredibly quiet and serene), was the owner, Phil. We emailed/texted him throughout our stay whenever we had questions, and he answered promptly and happily every time. Thank you, Phil! If this review seems like an exaggeration, I assure you it is not. My girlfriend and I had a vacation we'll never forget. If you are looking for an affordable, peaceful, fun and cozy getaway, look no further, because you've found it. -Mike and Rachel

                  Wonderful stay!

I enjoyed a wonderful four day stay with my husband and two best friends. The house was nicely appointed with ample cooking supplies, beach chairs, fishing rods, firewood, charcoal and the great canoe. It was so much fun and so peaceful! Our hosts were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We were even surprised with fresh corn from their farm. We especially loved the fire pit by the water where we enjoyed a great campfire every night and marveled at all the stars we could see. The canoeing was fun too. (could use a new paddle). Relaxing and reading on the enclosed front porch with the view of the lake was also a group favorite. There are two supermarkets within 10 miles and plenty of places to go out to eat if you don't want to cook. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a place to unplug and relax and enjoy nature.

I think Joe and Tara have gone above and beyond providing all the comforts of home. They offer more amenities than most vacation rentals in the area. I happen to love the way they have decorated their home. I enjoy spending every minute on that deck. I’m grateful to Joe and Tara for sharing their home with me. Thank You. I look forward to next year. Lois C.
