          Wonderful Lake Vacation Cottage

          5 of 5
We having been staying at Newfound Lake and specifically Newfound Sands for about ten years. This was our first time renting a cottage from Mark and Sarah and we chose the Knoll Inn 3 because it looked the most updated out of all the cottages that were available for when we wanted to go. Apparently, they have recently acquired this cottage and have set to work on making it very nice. There are a lot of nice touches that were not available in previous cottages that we have stayed at so it was good to have things like a sink in the bathroom and a tiled shower, a full size fridge and freezer, and wifi with a netflix account. This was the first year that we traveled with our almost 2 year old daughter so the netflix account was really helpful for her to have a treat. And the wifi was a godsend because I still do not get service (t-mobile) at Newfound Lake so I could still iMessage. Everything was clean, and new and very lovely. Mark was always very prompt and courteous in answering any and every question that I had through email/phone and was very helpful. We loved staying at the Knoll Inn3 and hope to be able to return next summer. It is a wonderful place to vacation and I loved being able to share my favourite place with my child. Thank you so much!!!!

          Nicely furnished, well-kept small cottage.

The overall quality is fine. Having rented the same cottage last year, I can honestly say it has been improved. The Kuerig is a nice addition, and there's an overall brightness that was lacking previously. I also like the key box, a very good method of providing initial access, as well as preventing being inadvertently locked out. The reason I gave only four stars is that a significant improvement needs to be made to the porch frame. As has been done to #11, apparently some time ago, the horizontal beam above where you step up needs to be cut away to prevent head-banging. The scabs just came off my head this morning! Anyone over about 5'8" is at risk. At about 6' I saw stars! J. McIntyre

A no frills cottage w/ a very relaxing atmosphere

          4 of 5
Overall it's a nice little place. Yes Little. It says it can sleep 6, but I would say a family of 4 is the most you'd want there especially if you bring Fido. Landscaping in the pictures is a bit over grown. But who cares? The bottom line is, it's in a quiet area with very little car traffic. It's just a short trip down the path to the dock and lake. Water is deep enough off the dock to do plenty of jumping, a decent shallow area with a sandy bottom and space for a smaller boat if you bring one. It has a row boat, but we didn't use it. Easy drive into downtown Meredith, groceries, restaurants, ice cream, etc.... (I recommend the sculpture walk down along the water, very cool stuff) and not too far from kid friendly attractions like Funspot, Mini Golf, Go Karts, Bumper Boats, Batting Cages and the Weirs. Plus, if you want to get north to attractions like Whales Tale, Story Land or Santa's Village it's about 20 minutes to I-93. If you bring a dog, make sure it doesn't like to roam as there are a ton of other K-9's in the area. I was also pleasantly surprised to find horseshoe pits and make sure to use the bungee cords on the trash cans. Critters got into one over night. Lesson learned. Overall, it doesn't have upscale amenities, so if you want those look for something else. No cable, no wifi, tiny galley kitchen and we loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend this for a small family that just wants to get away from it all and relax.
