              Tawas: Budget Vacation Rentals (6)

              Recent Tawas Reviews

Fantastic home away from home property. This home as all of the amenities to make you comfortable.

              5 of 5
The property itself is beautiful and extremely clean. We have a family of 5 plus our dog and all fit very comfortably in this home. (There was still another bed that went unused). The view of the sunrise every morning is beyond breathtaking and can be viewed inside or outside of the home. The beach is beautiful. We enjoyed playing and walking along the beach every day. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There is a town called Tawas up the road about 20 mins which has all sorts of shopping and a theater. This home is perfect for relaxing and getting in some quality time with your family. Now that being said I have 3 children that love the internet so when the day was winding down and it was time for games our kids had a blast. The owners of this house provide an unlimited fantastic wireless internet and a great Satellite TV package. The fact that there is a washer and dryer there was also wonderful and much appreciated to clean up after a fun day at the beach. We really did have everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. The owners are easy to reach and provided immediate feedback to any questions that we had. We plan on making this rental our home away from home and will be back many more times in the future.

              Perfect Low-key Dog-Friendly Spot

              5 of 5
We booked the cabin for my birthday weekend, specifically to give us a break from taking our 5 month old puppies outside on a leash every couple of hours. They loved the backyard and we were able to really relax! The cabin is cozy and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The only downfalls were the extremely tiny bathroom, low water pressure, and noisy water pump. We stayed for 3 full days which was the perfect amount of time to explore the small towns in the area without getting bored. The guest book and dollar bill game made us feel like we knew the past guests and were leaving our own legacy. We went on an off road vehicle trail with our Jeep (trailhead for large vehicles is about a mile west on the same road as the cabin). The birch trees and fall colors were picturesque. We also toured Rose Valley Winery, the Dusty Rose antique shop, and flea market. Everyone we met was friendly and we felt very welcome. It was also great to be able to get some work done since we both run our own businesses and are never off the clock. The internet speeds/connectivity and access to Netflix were great. I highly suggest bringing your own food to cook meals since there are only 2 small general stores and a few bars within 20 minutes or so. You'll have everything you need, including condiments and baking essentials. Aaron was very responsive to all of my questions and was even willing to mail us back an item that we forgot to grab. We would stay here again without hesitation, maybe in the winter or summer to try out snowmobiling and the lake!
