              Great Place, Beautiful Colors

              5 of 5
We were looking for a place in the U.P of Michigan that was both secluded and in the National Forest. This place is exactly what we were looking for. Fall colors going into the lodge were fantastic. The driveway is a long dirt road very assessable as long as you do not have a low profile sports car. The fishing and the weather were great. we will be back next year.

              Incredible!

A group of friends and I made the trip up to Chippeny Creek Lodge for a little vacation before heading to Marquette for a wedding. Everything about it was perfect. The lodge is very private so you feel like you're in the middle of no where, but it has all the amenities you could ever need. We used the canoe, fished the river (watch out for snags), played yard games, relaxed by the fire, and did some serious star watching. The only negative I can think of is the bugs, but if you're on a river in the middle of the woods that's expected. We had firewood delivered and everyone had a great time taking their turn splitting it. We traveled from the Chicago area, I would suggest stopping in Escanaba for food supplies before arriving at the lodge. I would definitely recommend this property to any big group looking to relax for a bit. My friends and I have already started talking about a return trip.

              Escape Life

              5 of 5
My family has enjoyed this wonderful lodge two times now and will continue to return. Eight adults and seven children, two of them infants, managed to survive a week and have a blast! It is an amazing place away from the hectic city life we call normal. The noise of the river lulls you to sleep and the light show in the midnight sky is amazing. The great kitchen allows for some wonderful meals, should you feel inspired, and the master suite that overlooks the river offers maximum relaxation and romance. There is plenty of room to roam and stretch out. Enjoy bonfires, a read by on the deck, fishing, a kayak ride down the river, cocktails during sunset, volleyball in the side lot- I could go on and on! A truly wonderful place for a family reunion or "big chill" weekend! The owner was great to deal with and very helpful, the house manager, was equally as nice and helpful when it came to issues such as hot tub maintenance.
