Best lake rental we have had!

                        5 of 5
We have stayed at this cottage for two years after renting lake cottages for many years and truly loved not only the privacy but all the room and extra amenities. Caleb and his family were so helpful and accommodating including giving us the number of a local pontoon rental. His uncle has an artistic business back in across the road and even left an oatmeal mixture that brought in the minnows for my granddaughter's to feed off the pier and had a rope of little buoys to mark the best swim area for them so they wouldn't go out too deep. This is not only a beautiful stone cottage but truly feels like a family home but a big one with 2 porches, 3 living room areas and 4 bedrooms. We had 6 adults and had plenty of room, in fact the two toddlers loved all the indoor room to run around in and loved playing in the sunny front porch, great for rainy days. The Smith's were even very accommodating about offering extra parking for our daughter's 30th birthday party which we didn't need because the driveway accommodated all the cars for over 40 adults and children. There was plenty for everyone to do with basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and of course swimming for the kids and diving off the board at the end of the pier for the adults as well as fishing off it for adults and kids alike. Also a nice sandy beach area, a pavilion with lights and a table and one of the best firepit areas I've seen for roasting some' mores with a great view of the lake. The porch on the lakeside has several tables and was great for setting up the buffet but there is also a nice gas grill for BBQ. We would be continuing to go back there every year but we loved the idea of a family cottage so much that we decided to buy one close to home for our grandkids-- not as big or nice as this one. I would highly recommend this for a family getaway, a family get together, even for a graduation open house weekend if you live nearby. I haven't been to the Clifford Lake Inn since it got new owners but it is a couple of houses away and has a great outdoor deck area. Stony Lodge has two lots with privacy from any other cottages and lots of room for kids to play, great swimming and fishing, lots of things to do (don't miss the great free zoo, ice cream and baked goods at the Anderson & Girls Orchard just a short drive away). A great place for a family vacation!

                        What a great experience

                        5 of 5
The facilties were excellent. The servcie was top notch. What a pleasent suprise. We felt at home and the setting is breathe taking. We could not ask for more. If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful vacation look no further. The attenion to detail on facilties was surprising. This was the best value for the dollar we have experienced and we vacation and traval all over the country. The Muskegon River is a fishermans dream, the secluded setting without being far from town is great. Thank you for a great stay.
