Beautiful home very clean beautifully decorated and very well stocked. Lake was close to home and shallow enough for young kids to play. Owner was very kind and we are looking forward to renting again in the future!!!!?

            Lovely cottage

            4 of 5
We visit the thumb region of Michigan annually to visit with family. This was the first year that we did not book a house on the lake/beach and I was a little worried that our kids (5,10,13) would be bored. Nothing could be farther from the truth! The cottage was clean and comfortable. The yard is very large and has a tire swing, fire pit and lots of grass to kick a soccer ball. The lake is a short walk down the street. Wagener Park is a short drive, maybe a mile. We went swimming, beach glass hunting and played on the playground every day. We also got out to Harbor Beach (beautiful and sandy) and Port Austin for a fishing trip. We took a charter boat out and landed 7 HUGE lake trout and 2 small salmon. There were also cute shops in Port Austin. My parents enjoyed the porch swing. We were able to get together for dinners and there was room for all 7 with the counter seats. The kids thought that was neat. The lake breezes kept us cool most nights. There are plenty of fans and the wifi kept the kids entertained during any downtime. There were also several games and movies for rainy spots and evenings before bed. In all, we were happy with our first rental off of the waterfront!

Great stay, Friendly owner, Wonderful time

Where to start. The cabin is awesome. While there is no air conditioning, we stayed first week of August and did not miss it. With the windows open at night you get a great cross breeze. The beach is not big, but sandy and we brought the lawn chairs right to the waters edge and watched the sunrises, which are spectacular. The water is pretty shallow. My son who is only 3 feet tall was able to walk out into the lack about 100 yards before having to swim. I would highly recommend water shoes as the first 10 yards are big rocks before you hit the nice sandy part. This cabin is very secluded, but with Lexington 45 min to the South and Port Salniac closer at 15 min to the South, there are great restaurants and bars. Plenty of night life too, though we stayed mostly at the cabin and watched the lake and stars. Pat, the property manager is also really nice and very helpful. He has the skinny on anything you could need here. I highly recommend this cabin.
