We booked the cabin for my birthday weekend, specifically to give us a break from taking our 5 month old puppies outside on a leash every couple of hours. They loved the backyard and we were able to really relax!
The cabin is cozy and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The only downfalls were the extremely tiny bathroom, low water pressure, and noisy water pump.
We stayed for 3 full days which was the perfect amount of time to explore the small towns in the area without getting bored. The guest book and dollar bill game made us feel like we knew the past guests and were leaving our own legacy.
We went on an off road vehicle trail with our Jeep (trailhead for large vehicles is about a mile west on the same road as the cabin). The birch trees and fall colors were picturesque.
We also toured Rose Valley Winery, the Dusty Rose antique shop, and flea market. Everyone we met was friendly and we felt very welcome.
It was also great to be able to get some work done since we both run our own businesses and are never off the clock. The internet speeds/connectivity and access to Netflix were great.
I highly suggest bringing your own food to cook meals since there are only 2 small general stores and a few bars within 20 minutes or so. You'll have everything you need, including condiments and baking essentials.
Aaron was very responsive to all of my questions and was even willing to mail us back an item that we forgot to grab.
We would stay here again without hesitation, maybe in the winter or summer to try out snowmobiling and the lake!
