          Relaxing Environment

          5 of 5
Little Bear was in a very picturesque setting. The view of the tiny private lake was perfect. The cabin itself was one of the cleanest we've been in. The hot tub was spotless! Everything you needed for cooking, showering and relaxing was available. The Manager, Dorene, was very helpful and responsive. The only down side was that the beds were very firm. Very private even with cabins within close proximity on either side. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Lovely Beach House - great place to get away!

          5 of 5
We've stayed at this property for the last six years and each time had a fabulous experience with both the larger log home and the smaller cabin that is also located on the property. The Log home is well maintained, clean, has a fabulous area to cook in that overlooks the grate room and dining room with a beautiful view of Walloon Lake. The listing is not accurate in terms of amenities, as there are MANY that are not listed. From Brose surround sound, to two first floor master suites with their own private bathroom, a gorgeous state of the art hot tub (We were there after the struck by lightning incident and the brand new hot tub cycles through pretty lights which the teens in our party loved), a large 1,000+ square feet loft that has two sets of bunk beds, a cozy viewing area for TV that the kids can relax and enjoy, a game area, mini nook near a well lit window for the readers to enjoy, another cozy area that has a big screen tv- apart from the kids loft, but close enough to hear if there are any "issues" in the other room, and two more bed rooms upstairs. Since we've been coming here for 6 years we've gotten to know the Browne family very well and been very pleased with the friendly customer service they've provided. Barb and Booth are retired and spend part of the summer at Walloon Lake, so they're always up on the latest restaurants and can make some good recommendations. One of our favorite places to go to is Jespersons in down-town Petoskey. Great, amazing coconut cream pie - we've been going there for years and usually make Jesperson's one of our first stops. Good burgers and the coconut cream pie is amazing! A previous review was upset they could not use the washer and dryer- while we agree this would be great, we also know and understand up front that it is not available. Our family and my brother and sister and their kids have all been coming up to this area for years. We're very glad to have found this beach house and plan on continuing to come back as long as the Browne's have it available for rent.

Very Nice Home in a Beautiful Setting

          5 of 5
Liz's reply to my Initial contact was very timely, and further emails, or phone calls with questions were attended to within the day. Very helpful info was provided after we made the reservation - specific location, excellent directions to the home, trash and check-out instructions, etc. The setting for the home is beautiful and would be any time of year. We brought our family of 11 to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. For our group, made up of our 2 daughters, their husbands and our 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 19 to 7, we purchased two day tickets for all to Avalanche Bay indoor waterpark located approx. 7-10 minutes away at Boyne Mt. We had a blast - something for all ages! The resort would also be a great place to ski, snowmobile, and golf. We all LOVE Mexican food and had a delicious dinner at Red Mesa Grill in Boyne City approx. 10 minutes away. Food was GREAT as well as the service. Highly recommend! The home was perfect for our group...enough beds and bathrooms for everyone. Our 4 grandsons kept busy going from the foosball, air hockey, ping pong and pool tables. We adults had a very nice comfortable seating area upstairs where we watched the basketball tournament on a large screen TV. One morning we prepared a huge breakfast for all, and did likewise for an evening meal. We had 4 to 5 cooks working comfortably together in the kitchen area with no problem. There's a large side-by-side refrigerator in the kitchen and another refrigerator only (no freezer) in the garage. The house was very clean. We noticed a few minor maintenance issues - could use more water pressure in some of the showers and kitchen faucet, window blinds need repair, and, because my grandsons love to play pool, they were disappointed that there was only one playable pool stick. Bottom line - we would rent from Liz and Tony, again, and I would recommend the property to my friends.
