Unique Historic Cabins and Lodge--Perfect Summer Get-Away

                5 of 5
I can't express how much I love this place. To me, it's the perfect summer vacation spot for large extended families and friends--especially if you have children. The beach is easy to get to, and there aren't dangerous, steep stairs to navigate to get to the beach. The cabins and lodge are all rustic so you don't have to demand that children be super careful with all their surroundings--for example there's very little carpeting etc. I personally love the historic charm of the place--it really feels like you've gone back in time. The screened in porches in the dinning hall and the boat house have great views of the water. The little cabins are super charming and fun to stay in. The dining hall is nice because you can seat such a large group of people together. Long lake is perfect for boating especially since there are cute little islands that you can explore. Another aspect that is nice about this place is the way it is surrounded by tall trees, so you are always in a cool breeze rather than baking in the sun--unless you want to go down by the water. There is also a nearby park that you can walk to which is great for a daily hike. Because this place is so large, it is perfect for a big group. If I had the opportunity, I would return here every year with my family because I love the experience so much. The only critique that I can write is that the place is a little rustic, so renters should not expect the most updated decor or amenities (although there are new bathrooms, one new kitchen, and new washer, dryer etc.). But to me, this just adds to the historic charm. I wouldn't want it any other way.

                Caboose Royale - Excellent

                5 of 5
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family celebration of our 50th anniversary couldn't have been better. The house was very accommodating except for the following: No A/C on upper level; grass was not cut when we arrived-waited two days; modem did not work-waited three days for replacement. It should be noted that there some serious safety issues which need to be addressed:1.the two level deck should have lights to illuminate the two levels at night(one of our guests fell off the top level);2. the dock ladder needs bolts tightened as well as tie down cleat tightened. These items should be addressed but we were still very satisfied with our stay.

                Absolutely Stunning Home!

                4 of 5
This home is amazing with beautiful views and is very spacious for a large group to enjoy. Gorgeous fireplaces and plenty of seating for everyone. Very cozy and not far from skiing which is what we were there for. We had five families total and there was plenty of room for all. With all that being said, for the price we had high expectations. Would have given this 5 stars, however, there were some issues with older appliances not working properly, some areas of concern on overall cleanliness and if you plan to cook meals there you may want to bring some of your own supplies. One thing not mentioned is that the home sits atop a beautiful hill but you may want to have 4 wheel drive if visiting in the winter because some of the cars could not make it up the driveway. All in all, it is a very beautiful home and we would stay there again!
