We loved our time at the log cabin! Owner Jim lives right next door and he and Kim were wonderful. Fixed any issues that arose immediately, provided local information and suggestions and were just incredibly friendly and pleasant. You can also check out their honey stand and business (High Haven Honey) just outside the neighborhood entrance for honey made by Jim and his bees. The cabin had everything we needed and we loved calling it home for our one week vacation. This is a great hidden gem of a neighborhood in an area that makes it easy to get out and about but isn't in the heart of the chaos of the harbor/weekend traffic. We headed out to other NE areas to explore on a daily basis and some days explored the area right in/around Gloucester and Rocky Point. We loved going to Fort Stage Park and felt like Half Moon Beach, located in the park, was a great, easy access beach area that wasn't overcrowded at all. If you head to Fort Stage Park/Half Moon Beach after 4pm, you won't need to pay to park. We also fell in love with Holy Cow ice cream in town, we highly encourage a visit there! They have amazing ice cream sandwiches, "breakfast" milkshakes like fruity pebble shakes and the most creamy delicious Almond Joy ice cream. 7 Seas Whale Watching out of Gloucester was an amazing experience we also highly recommend!
