              Great stay on Chappy

              4 of 5
We came to Martha's Vineyard for our wedding and a bit of a pre-wedding vacation. We booked this property because it offered all of the amenities we wanted - heated pool, jacuzzi, and most importantly space for the 16 people we planned to have stay with us in the run up to our wedding. The place fit the bill. When we arrived we were pleased to find the home was as described. The property had plenty of room to relax and enjoy our time on the island. The beds were comfortable, the pool was the perfect temperature, and the landscape and art work throughout made for an enjoyable place to spend time. While many spent their days sitting by the pool and soaking up rays, others got out to explore not only the beautiful beaches of Chappy but also other parts of Martha's Vineyard. The ferry, which is the only way to access this property, runs on a very convenient schedule and is a short five minute ride. As mentioned, we were there for our wedding. We had a clambake on the property for our "rehearsal dinner." There is a side yard that was perfect for the event and other than adding some lighting to the area, we simply set up tables and had our party, which everyone thought was amazing. A couple of notes if you plan to book this property: 1) get your provisions before getting on the ferry as there are no stores on Chappy; 2) many of the rooms have bunk beds or two beds in the room, so plan accordingly; 3) there is a noise ordinance on Chappy that is strictly enforced so plan on quiet time after 10 pm; 4) though the property is large, there are neighbors and you will want to respect their privacy. A family or two renting this property will not be disappointed and it will be a relaxing vacation to remember.

              Fantastic Family Reunion

              5 of 5
"We had a wonderful vacation at this gorgeous rental home in Katama, and I would like to recommend this home highly. Definitely one of our favorite places we have stayed as a family, and the location of the home was ideal for us, as it is a short walk to south beach, or a fun, easy bike ride into Edgartown. One of our favorite things to start our day with was just that, a bike ride into Edgartown for coffee and/or breakfast, and some exercise (many many bikes to choose from, as they were provided with the house). My wife and I loved riding the beach cruisers, although we did give the tandem bike a try too. The home is quite spacious, nicely appointed, and very comfortable, and it accommodated our big group of families, for our mini-reunion of sorts. Plenty of comfortable rooms upstairs and downstairs for adults, with privacy and separation when you needed quiet time (there is a cottage as well, with two more rooms available). At the end of the day, we all ended up in the kitchen/large family room upstairs (which we called the Great Room), which has a very beautiful, and large wooden dining table that could seat us all, and we much appreciated being able to do that without dividing our crew up at dinner time. This is the largest, brightest room in the house and where we all seemed to congregate and had lots of laughs, meals, wine, and even impromptu dance parties that the kids put on! great memories created, although I think I pulled something trying to do an old dance move from long ago.. There is a deck just off of this room which was a good place to relax, or read in the sun, and made it easy for us to watch the kids swim in the pool just below as we prepared meals. The Great Room was our favorite room, although I think my wife's favorite might have been the sauna! Everything we needed was provided with the house, and the owners were very friendly and helpful with the whole process. Great stay, beautiful home, we all definitely want to make a return stay here in summers to come!"
