            Perfect Wedding Venue

            5 of 5
Stoneyhill is the ideal place to have a wedding, period. It offers the perfect trifecta of wedding services: the ceremony, the reception and the housing accommodations. From our perspective, this simplifies the planning considerably. We found the accommodations to be awesome. The house is airy and spacious. It also has a number of goodies for the techie types like AirPlay speakers and a theater room that made one of our guests relive the Star Wars saga. The hammock, or as we called it, the magic hammock was a terrific surprise. It's magic because it only takes five minutes to put anyone to sleep. The property is very private and the barn is a big differentiator as far as wedding venues are concerned. Our guests loved the rustic appeal, the caters found it to be very accommodative and the band loved the acoustics. A number of our guests said that it was the best wedding that they have ever been to. Part of this credit goes to the memorable food prepared by Chef Deon, the Boston band we hired (Encore) and of course the venue that put people in very spirited mood. Our only recommendation to someone wanting to plan this event is to give yourself a year and a half lead time for the perfect event like we had.

            Fantastic Family Reunion

            5 of 5
"We had a wonderful vacation at this gorgeous rental home in Katama, and I would like to recommend this home highly. Definitely one of our favorite places we have stayed as a family, and the location of the home was ideal for us, as it is a short walk to south beach, or a fun, easy bike ride into Edgartown. One of our favorite things to start our day with was just that, a bike ride into Edgartown for coffee and/or breakfast, and some exercise (many many bikes to choose from, as they were provided with the house). My wife and I loved riding the beach cruisers, although we did give the tandem bike a try too. The home is quite spacious, nicely appointed, and very comfortable, and it accommodated our big group of families, for our mini-reunion of sorts. Plenty of comfortable rooms upstairs and downstairs for adults, with privacy and separation when you needed quiet time (there is a cottage as well, with two more rooms available). At the end of the day, we all ended up in the kitchen/large family room upstairs (which we called the Great Room), which has a very beautiful, and large wooden dining table that could seat us all, and we much appreciated being able to do that without dividing our crew up at dinner time. This is the largest, brightest room in the house and where we all seemed to congregate and had lots of laughs, meals, wine, and even impromptu dance parties that the kids put on! great memories created, although I think I pulled something trying to do an old dance move from long ago.. There is a deck just off of this room which was a good place to relax, or read in the sun, and made it easy for us to watch the kids swim in the pool just below as we prepared meals. The Great Room was our favorite room, although I think my wife's favorite might have been the sauna! Everything we needed was provided with the house, and the owners were very friendly and helpful with the whole process. Great stay, beautiful home, we all definitely want to make a return stay here in summers to come!"
