                      Clean Cabin on Quiet Street

                      4 of 5
My wife and I enjoyed this cabin for our anniversary getaway. The owner was easy to reach and attentive to any questions or needs. The cabin is on a shaded lot one street away from the lake and has a full kitchen with comfortable beds. We found it funny that the acorns falling from the trees near the cabin set the car alarm off twice while we were there. Water access is about a half mile away and offers a decent view of the lake from the dock. We found out that the cabin front door locks automatically when we were sitting in the rocking chair out front, so have the combination with you (we hadn't used a computerized lock before). The best place we found to eat was Uno's on the water—our appetizers and entrees were great! And if you climb the fiberglass/cement elephant in the nice area behind the restaurant, be prepared to have your wife laugh at you — I made it up on it though. There is also a nice 24/7 market right near the restaurant that was stocked with just about everything you could want. We wanted to rent a canoe or row boat, but only kayaks, paddle boards or motor boats were offered at the places on the lake - we didn't try in the park. We found a fun place called the Shawnee Trading Post while we were driving around. If you enjoy looking at an eclectic collection of sculptures and statues it is really a vast assortment and most are for sale. We even paid the $3 each to tour his private collection - I think it was worth it - the wooden carvings that were crammed into the inside portion were quite amazing. We had a peaceful time at Deep Creek and the cabin served as a nice central point to our visit. If you are looking for a quiet respite in the Deep Creek area this is the place.

                      Great Family Vacation Place

                      5 of 5
Loved this place for our group of two couples, one mother with a baby, and a grandmother with three school age grandchildren. The ground floor apartment with two bedrooms, bath, and family room provided separate sound-proof quarters for the grandmother and school age kids, and the adults and baby were undisturbed on the top floor. There is direct access to the dock, where the kids had a great time playing (with adult supervision). The kitchen is big and well furnished, and the fire pit area was a hit. It's reasonably close to the beach at Deep Creek state park. There aren't other activities for kids close by. For boaters, it would be ideal.

Relaxing, and Beautiful, Inside and out!

                      5 of 5
Things were as described in the listing. The convenience of having not to bring linens can not be overstated nor can the availability of condiments and everyday food and kitchen items that were supplied. Reading on the deck that wraps around the house was wonderful Sun, Shade and shelter from the Rain. Everything Deep Creek was a very short drive away. The setting allowed a pace that suited us perfectly. A wonderful change from the beach.
