            Private and Cozy

            5 of 5
My wife and I spent several nights here. The cabin was private and cozy. The kitchen was well furnished as was the rest of the cabin. The front porch is by far the best part of the cabin. We ate all our meals here and enjoyed watching the wild turkeys wander around the yard. The location is well situated: close to Ohiopyle and the GAP Bike Trail. Be aware it seems to be a dry county so you may want to bring your own beverages. We anticipate returning in the fall.

            Fabulous Lake View!

            5 of 5
We stayed at the log cabin for a weekend. It is located right at Alpine Lake, and the view was undeniably breathtaking. We spent hours and hours just admiring the spectacular view. From sunrise to sunset, the water was glistening in the sunlight. We saw the color of water changes as the sun moves from East to West. We were able to see the lake from anywhere in the cabin: in the kitchen while cooking, on the deck while in hot cedar bath, by the fire pit while roasting marshmallows, and from the loft area looking down the living room… and the lake. That was an extraordinary experience and amazing treat for us. This is a great place for family bonding. It is secluded from outside world, and it created time for us to cherish each other. There were many complimentary accommodations (e.g. family-friendly board games, DVD collections, massage chair which kids loved so much, etc.) to keep us entertained during our stay. We also packed lunch to hike up the trail to top of the ski slope. We had a lunch there in a little gazebo with the best lake view. It was a great weekend getaway for our family. We will come back!

            Love that Mountain Aire!

            5 of 5
This was our second year at Mountain Aire and we loved it every bit as much as our first year here. We have adult children and grandchildren ranging from 15 down to 3 years of age, and all have a grand time here. The home is spacious and lovingly appointed with every amenity you might want. Even with 10 of us in the house, no one feels cramped. The five state parks are readily accessible, the view from the deck is superb, the immediately adjacent wooded area is full of surprises, including rock climbing hand and foot holds, and the pool is just a quick walk through the trees. There is so much to do in the Deep Creek Lake area that we'll be back again next year to mark a few more of them off our very long list. This is the perfect home base for so many adventures. It's beautiful, yet serenely comfortable, and certainly wonderful enough in its own right that you might not even want to leave it.
