Come over to the quiet side!

House is neat and clean, plenty of towels and linens. Both Landlord and Manager are very prompt to respond to any questions, requests. Appliances are new and working. Kids loved decorations and books in the house. We did grill some steaks couple times while enjoying the big deck. Bass Harbor has two very nice restaurants. Our favorite for sunset was Seafood Ketch. It is close to the water and does not have screens as the Thurston’s, Thurston’s however has bigger lobsters to try out. Seawall and Long Pond trails are very close as well as ferry to Swan/Cranberry and Frenchboro islands. Seawall area was absolute favorite with kids (8 and 12). Get wet shoes, time the low tide and go to the Wonderland trail. Then have a picnic at the Seawall.

                Great for extended family

                5 of 5
Rented both houses for our family of 14. Both houses were in pristine condition. Beds were extremely comfortable (everyone commented on sleeping very well). Kitchen had everything you could possibly need for cooking (minus any spices you might use). Layout of downstairs of the main house facilitated cooking family meals, eating together, and playing games with all the little ones. Owners were very accessible and helpful. Most bedrooms had ceiling fans and there were extra fans in closets. Easy to get to beach by small path or road next to the house. Master suite was excellent and the rest of the family enjoyed their rooms as well. Patio space is limited, but yards were nice. (Bring bug spray for mosquitos.) Neighbors on the beach were noisy a night or two. Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor...Plenty to do! Great spot to stay on the "quiet side" of the island. We would recommend it!

A true home away from home, an unbeatable view!

                5 of 5
We had an incredible stay at this wonderful family home! The home is equipped with all the essentials and then some, and is thoughtfully designed and laid out to maximize both the interior and exterior space. The bedrooms and sleeping arrangements are very comfortable and allow for excellent privacy and separation for kids and other guests. Full baths upstairs and on the main floor are a welcome touch for a big group, too! The wraparound deck has unobstructed water views that are nothing short of stunning. (And the cozy deck off the master suite lets you wake up to the same beautiful views!) A short a walk down to the shoreline affords picture perfect sunsets that will surely become a "not-to-be-missed" part of your day! There is ample parking, and the outside of the property is beautifully maintained. There are seemingly endless outdoor activities all around Mount Desert Island, with the home being very convenient to several parts of Acadia National Park. The hiking, kayaking, and biking are simply some of the best we have experienced anywhere. We loved the location of this property on the "quiet side" of the island, and the drive to Bar Harbor for shopping, dining, and other activities is an easy one. We will certainly be back!
