              Perfection

              5 of 5
This is the perfect quintessential Maine cottage. It is charming and beautiful, but more than that, it is comfortable. We spent hours after hiking relaxing on the deck or the screened porch. The furniture is cozy and very comfortable in both places. The setting is gorgeous and quiet and the cottage and gardens are immaculately maintained. We loved being on the back side of the island where we did not have to compete with other hikers for the trails. It was quiet and peaceful. The owner is the best owner that we have ever dealt with - and we have a track record of summer renting at this point. She is friendly but not intrusive and exceedingly responsive. She provided all linens and paper goods, laundry detergent and beach towels as well. She is so organized that we didn’t have to do any of our own research, except for scoping out the miles of different hiking trails. The information she provided was well thought out and up to date. She also provided tips about the restaurants and reservations, as well as other activities in the area. We will be back. It’s a perfect property and a perfect owner!

              A Wonderful Vacation House!

              5 of 5
What an absolutely beautiful home! We had a fantastic two-week stay at Seal Cove Cottage this summer and could not have asked for better accommodations. The house is impeccably maintained and incredibly comfortable. The listing description is extremely accurate, but nothing can fully prepare you for how lovely this cottage is! Everything about our stay at Seal Cove Cottage was welcoming and comfortable, from the well-appointed kitchen to the beautiful master bedroom. It has plenty of cozy spots for reading and relaxing, including a lovely screened-in porch that feels like it's nestled among the surrounding trees. We were lucky to enjoy gorgeous weather on our trip, and sunlight streamed through the woods and into the house's many windows each day. The location of this house is also fantastic. It's just a minute away from Route 102, making it easy to reach Acadia's Quiet Side attractions, from Long Pond and Acadia Mountain to Wonderland and the Bass Harbor Lighthouse. But, because the house is tucked away on a beautiful piece of wooded property, you can really enjoy your privacy as well. Rich could not have been a better host. He is extremely communicative and responsive. He answered our many questions promptly and offered tons of helpful advice. Rich is genuinely invested in making sure that you have a wonderful stay in Seal Cove. We cannot recommend Seal Cove Cottage highly enough.

              Summer Bliss

              5 of 5
Sunset Point Cottage was a outstanding location for a Mount Desert Island vacation. The private setting on the most quintessential Maine coastline provided both morning peace and beautiful evening sunsets. We could watch sunsets from the porch or the lawn or down close to the waters rocky coast. The house was well maintained, very clean and fully equipped. Two lobster and steamer dinners were enjoyed supplied by local lobsterman - a meal requiring a well equipped kitchen and supplies! We also found the "Quietside of the Island" to have the best weather as the Park was often fogged in, but when we headed over to the Park, much fun was had by all - hiking, painting, beaching. The house was also comfortable for being inside on rainy days or evenings bringing much family fun with cards and games and last resort, TV if desired. We would enjoy our mornings at the cottage, leave for the day to enjoy Acadia and return for afternoon and evening activity (other than one sunset on Cadillac Mountain). Everything is easy to get to from the cottage (be it Southwest or Northeast Harbors or Bar Harbor or the Park) and yet it is wonderful to be able to get away from the more crowded side. We very much enjoyed the Beehive Hike and Beech Mtn (close to cottage). One could also enjoy the entire day at the cottage complete with a pebble beach and swimming and kayaking opportunities. (Water was the warmest than any other spot!) After much experience with Home Away rentals, this one is a gem, accurately depicted, very well supplied with kitchen utensils, towels, soaps and very clean. The owners were very welcoming and friendly people and extremely attentive and caring about our family's personal needs and concerns. Highly recommend for a Downeast Maine! vacation!
