                Amazing Lakefront Vacation

                5 of 5
A group of six friends (and a dog) stayed at Libby Camp for four nights, and we wish we could have stayed longer! Our goal for the trip was to hike Katahdin, and we were more then happy to spend the rest of our visit relaxing by the lake! Karen was super easy to work with before and during our visit. She met us at the cabin to show us around and provided excellent information on the local area, activities, restaurants, etc. The house is well appointed and had everything needed for an excellent stay. Couldn't be more impressed with this rental experience, we hope to return again!

                Perfect

                5 of 5
The pictures do not do the cottage justice. We are a family of 4 with 2 adult sized teens, and traveling with another young adult friend. We have rented a different cabin every summer via VRBO or Homeaway for the last 15 years, all over the East Coast. This has been my favorite. The location was convenient to Baxter State Park, which was our plan. The cottage had everything we needed, the beds and linens were comfortable, and everything was clean and in working order. The decor is original and comforting in a "grandma's house" kind of way. The lake, view, and backyard are gorgeous. When I booked, I was concerned that the wicker furniture in the LR would not be comfortable. I was completely wrong. It was very comfortable, particularly after hiking Mount Katahdin. When we could barely walk the next day, it was the perfect place to relax, along with enjoy sitting by the lake and playing with the kayaks. The boys had a great time fishing and caught some big ones. Faye and Don were positively delightful. We have never socialized with our hosts in the past as we prefer privacy, but we had a lovely evening visiting by the lake and my son and Don spent hours jamming on their guitars. They are welcoming, very easy to work with, but respectful of privacy. I know if we had wanted more anonymity, that would have been fine too. There is only one bathroom, which is on the first floor. I imagine this could be an issue if you were potty-training a little one, or you have an overactive bladder. The teens grumbled about the lack of dishwasher. Their parents had no sympathy, and enjoyed a cocktail while they cleaned. The house is outside Millinocket, which has groceries and gas, but is otherwise just limping along now that the paper mill has closed. I would happily spend every summer here if I could.

                Classic Maine Dream

                5 of 5
Simply an amazing place. Norm was a great host- and has the most amazing place in all of Maine! It is everything you dream for a family reunion- we had my husband and myself with our 5 children, their spouses and 3 grandchildren. That's a lot of people and when you looked around there were so many activities going on at the same time in the same place! From cookouts, fun swimming off the rocks and boating and fishing, (the fish is wonderful tasting b/c the water is so clean)! An eagle swooped down off the point trying to catch a fish- great daily entertainment... I would recommend renting a pontoon boat for the week- fabulous for fishing, getting to the beach across the lake and evening sunset cruises. We also hiked Gulf Hagus, hiked Mt at the end of the lake-fabulous (but can't remember the name). Everyone was thrilled! Thanks Norm! Katie and Mike
