We just returned from a week in this cottage, and this vacation was perhaps one of the most relaxing, recharging vacations I've ever had. From mornings in the hot tub overlooking the sound, to evenings at the firepit watching the sunset light up the water and the coastal hillside, this place had it all. The property itself was gorgeous; and much larger than we anticipated. Lots of space to play outdoor games, and my wife snuck in some yoga on the lawn by the waterfront. The deck made the perfect location for all of our meals, and June couldn't have been a better time to be there. Warm days and cool nights, and lots of quality family bonding. The kitchen was perfect for eating meals at home, and plenty of options in Southwest Harbor for those nights we wanted to go out. We spent a lot of time in Acadia, on both sides of the island, but we were so pleased to be staying in the more tranquil Western side of the island, rather than the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. A couple standouts of our trip included a canoe trip on long pond just a few minutes up the road, our final dinner at Beal's Lobster Pound, and Becky's suggestion to check out Diver Ed's Dive-In Theater boat ride. It was a fantastic suggestion and just added to the uniqueness of the experience. In short....we can't wait for another future visit!
