                      Boys summer camping trip 2016!

                      5 of 5
We stayed at Egg Pond Cottage for a ‘boys week out’ before school started. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. The living/kitchen combined area is approximately 20 X 18. Outside there is a large deck and screen porch. We enjoyed the beachfront during the day and fire pit in the evening. The lake is so quiet and dark at night, that you can see the reflection of the stars into the lake. The rental comes with two canoes and a paddle boat. The kids enjoyed the freedom to explore the lake by canoe and fish. My son caught a 20 inch Bass. I enjoyed taking the paddle boat out to the other end of the lake to pick over two gallons of high bush blueberries while standing in the paddle boat. The cottage is approximately 6 miles outside of Lincoln, where there are many restaurants, grocery stores and Walmart. We purchased 2 pound Lobsters at ‘Charlies’ and ate them at the picnic table at the cottage. The cottage is a 1 ½ hour drive from the main gate of Baxter state park, where my four boys and I did some hiking. Thank you Julie and Brent for allowing us to rent your little hideaway.

                      Amazing Lakefront Vacation

                      5 of 5
A group of six friends (and a dog) stayed at Libby Camp for four nights, and we wish we could have stayed longer! Our goal for the trip was to hike Katahdin, and we were more then happy to spend the rest of our visit relaxing by the lake! Karen was super easy to work with before and during our visit. She met us at the cabin to show us around and provided excellent information on the local area, activities, restaurants, etc. The house is well appointed and had everything needed for an excellent stay. Couldn't be more impressed with this rental experience, we hope to return again!

                      Perfect

                      5 of 5
The pictures do not do the cottage justice. We are a family of 4 with 2 adult sized teens, and traveling with another young adult friend. We have rented a different cabin every summer via VRBO or Homeaway for the last 15 years, all over the East Coast. This has been my favorite. The location was convenient to Baxter State Park, which was our plan. The cottage had everything we needed, the beds and linens were comfortable, and everything was clean and in working order. The decor is original and comforting in a "grandma's house" kind of way. The lake, view, and backyard are gorgeous. When I booked, I was concerned that the wicker furniture in the LR would not be comfortable. I was completely wrong. It was very comfortable, particularly after hiking Mount Katahdin. When we could barely walk the next day, it was the perfect place to relax, along with enjoy sitting by the lake and playing with the kayaks. The boys had a great time fishing and caught some big ones. Faye and Don were positively delightful. We have never socialized with our hosts in the past as we prefer privacy, but we had a lovely evening visiting by the lake and my son and Don spent hours jamming on their guitars. They are welcoming, very easy to work with, but respectful of privacy. I know if we had wanted more anonymity, that would have been fine too. There is only one bathroom, which is on the first floor. I imagine this could be an issue if you were potty-training a little one, or you have an overactive bladder. The teens grumbled about the lack of dishwasher. Their parents had no sympathy, and enjoyed a cocktail while they cleaned. The house is outside Millinocket, which has groceries and gas, but is otherwise just limping along now that the paper mill has closed. I would happily spend every summer here if I could.
