                  Perfection for Two

                  5 of 5
If you are looking for the perfect place for two, with a view, to unwind and relax, the Studio at Old Comfortable is the spot! We found the Studio just what we were looking for - a private, comfortable and beautifully appointed lodging with just enough amenities. Plus, the best views in Maine from the "Crow's Nest" seats on their pier; the ocean, out islands and lobster boats were an ever-changing painting. Hosts, Lynn and Bill provided a warm welcome and were available to make their favorite restaurant recommendations. Our favorite was Wallace's Grocery in Friendship where good food, good conversation and needed groceries can always be found! We would recommend the Studio at Marten's Point highly and hope to return! Bob and Mary, Nashville, NC

                  Perfect setting

                  5 of 5
We had a wonderful time here, so relaxing, quiet, peaceful. We stayed in one half of the house, which is surrounded by beautiful flowerbeds with giant peonies and gorgeous grounds, including a large lawn sloping down to the water. Just a perfect location! It was so nice to sit down by the harbor and watch the boats. The house is meticulously maintained with lots of period detail. A handsome, giant antique woodstove is a centerpiece of the kitchen, and beautiful built-in cupboards surround part of a dining nook with views of the harbor. Bedrooms upstairs are very comfortable and look out over the ocean. It was great to wake up with the sunlight coming in, hear the birds singing, and feel the ocean breeze! We also enjoyed a short hike, through a wooded area just north of the house and found a trail that comes out on the rocks overlooking the ocean. We loved our time here—great views of the bay, right on the harbor with a small beach, beautiful setting.

                  Idyllic spot

                  5 of 5
We had a fantastic time in this idyllic spot far from the hustle and bustle of our regular life. I think Juli is new to homeAway so I will leave a detailed review. The cabin is basic but is clean and has everything you need. There are comfortable chairs, a gorgeous sea view from inside, a little deck and a nice soft bed. The kitchen consists of an adequate but small fridge, 2 electric rings, an electric fry pan, a microwave, toaster and coffee pot. There is no oven, we made flatbread as "good" bread deliveries to the island are limited. Happy to share the recipe! There is a steep wooden stair down the cliff to a private beach. The fabulous thing about the beach is that there is NO mud at low tide, so swimming is great at any time (bring water shoes). This also means that it is pretty much bug free. And the water is clean and crisp, just delicious really. The island is a really special place. Folks are friendly and helpful. For example, when we were looking for boating options we got somebody's mother's phone number. We did find a kayak, but next time we will bring a boat of some kind, there are several public ramps. There is internet in the cabin, but if you need faster speeds the library has a good connection. If you want to watch movies (we did not) probably best to download before you arrive. All in all a fantastic spot for 2. Probably could have a non-mobile baby (wouldn't recommend the place for a toddler) or an 7+ year old. We hope to return.
