            Awesome week and rehearsal dinner

            5 of 5
To say we loved the Red Cottage is an understatement. We stayed there for the week before our son's wedding with all of our family. The cottage allowed everyone to have plenty of space to spread out and relax Everything we needed was provided. Without a doubt, the location was perfect for watching amazing sunsets and taking beautiful family photos. We shopped, we went sightseeing, and we enjoyed time together. Thanks to Jim and Tudor's catering, we also hosted the rehearsal dinner at the house. It was perfect! From fresh calamari to amazing crab cakes, lobster bisque and lobster rolls, our guests enjoyed some of the best seafood in Maine. They also provided vegetarian and meat options. The blueberry and peach pies Tudor baked that day topped off this outstanding party for over 40 people. Jim and Tudor helped us throughout the week to make sure everyone could enjoy the evening. It allowed us to entertain in a personal setting and have time with our guests. If you are looking for a beautiful rental spot for a large group that is close to Portsmouth and the Maine coast, look no further. Not only will you have relaxing days on the water and beautiful sunsets, you will also have the opportunity to meet Jim and Tudor Austin, who are the reason this property is so awesome!

            Great stay!

            5 of 5
We recently stayed at the Lighthouse so the whole family could stay together for our daughter's graduation from UNH. It was perfect for the whole family. The house was beautiful and we loved all of the little artistic details like the crown moldings, medallions, and the mantelpiece. We enjoyed the beautiful views, especially from the top of the lighthouse and from the dock across the street. We had meals together in the dining room and spent evenings chatting in the living room or watching TV. The location is terrific. It is situated on Chauncey Creek and is a short drive from shops in York, the Kittery outlets, and the great restaurants in Portsmouth. I do not recommend the house for anyone with toddlers because of the many stairs, but the elevator was a terrific help for Grandma and Grandpa, who have some mobility issues. Ed and Rosie are excellent hosts and were very attentive to all our needs. Our arrival was delayed by several hours due to traffic on our drive to Maine, and they were very understanding and accommodating. We recommend their lovely home to anyone looking for a fun getaway.

            Unique and Wonderful Oceanfront Gem

            5 of 5
We've spent a number of wonderful, extended summer vacations here and look forward to coming back again soon. The spectacular location and spacious house with expansive kitchen makes this the perfect place for our family to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the ocean at our doorstep. Nights were spent on the upper deck stargazing and during the day we explored the surrounding area or just spent our time sitting in the hammock or on the porch reading taking in the sea breeze. Our grown children joined us during parts of our stay and there was no need to look for restaurants - we just headed to the local seafood shop and ate at home most nights with freshly caught local fish and a bottle of wine on the patio with the ocean as a backdrop. There's even a garden that provided freshly picked herbs and vegetables to make our meals that much more special, along with the beautifully manicured flower gardens that added so much to the experience. My favorite spot in the house was sleeping in the third floor room facing the ocean. We'd leave the windows open and let the waves lapping on the shore lull us to sleep and wake up to them in the morning. Staying here is such a unique experience, it's hard to put into words all the wonderful memories we've made during our stays and we hope to make it back soon. Thanks again for everything Frank, Chuck and David
