Perfect home base for Maine vacation

        5 of 5
We stayed in this remarkable cottage before moving to a condo in Ogunquit. We were so excited that it was available for a second shorter stay before our flight home. The owners have thought of everything! Bamboo sheets on the very comfortable beds, gourmet coffee, tea, cocoa! There were luxurious towels and more than enough for our stay. The cottage had a private deck overlooking a meadow. This time of year the colors were amazing. It was the perfect place to curl up with a book and just relax. The cottage is a well furnished two bedroom, with 1 and 1/2 baths. Every extra you can think of was available, from a ninja blender, to a waffle maker, a huge lobster pot (we bought live lobsters at a local dock! ). The apartment includes a private garage, washer and dryer and keyless but secure entry. This was a very private setting, with all the amenities of larger, more populated condos. Games, magazines, and a wonderful TV were available, but we spent so much time exploring Camden, Rockport, Acadia National Park, local breweris, restaurants, light houses and museums. I would highly recommend The Owls Head Transportation Museum, as well as checking out local sailings of the Windjammer fleet. Our hosts were great at recommending outings and favorite restaurants. Incidentals that you often do not find when renting, such as spices, cocoa, storage bags, paper plates and napkins for a picnic, even extra dishes for storing leftovers. We did not lack a single thing that we would need. We are looking forward to returning to this townhouse on our next visit to Maine in 2018.
