Well maintained property with great view

        4 of 5
We stayed at this Hancock property for a week mid August of 2016. There were nine in our party, ranging from a four year old to several senior citizens. There were ample baths and comfortable beds for all. The water view from the great room is spectacular. Shawn, the property manager, was quickly responsive to the few needs that we had. Drawbacks were few, though for some the property may be too far away from the Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park. Access road to the property is hard to find, especially at night.

Great secluded place yet close to Bar Harbor

My family, which includes 2 teenagers, stayed at this home from 7.31.16 through 8.5.16. The home has been completely updated and was very clean. It had plenty of towels and linens, however the house does have a washer and dryer which we used just to stay on top of our own laundry. The location is ideal for those wanting to frequent Acadia and Bar Harbor but don't want all of the people (you can't see the neighbors' houses and we didn't see anyone else, other than the occasional car). It's only about a 15-20 minute easy drive from the house to the entrance of Acadia National Park, which we frequented every day. The house sits about 50 yards from the water which looks like a large lake but, in reality, is a Cove, meaning it is subject to high and low tides. We rented paddleboards for the week and the kids could paddleboard in the morning (we were introduced to high and low tides on this trip--low tide is about 4-5:00 a.m. and p.m. Consequently if you are wanting to be in the water, you have to wait until about 10:00 a.m. At high tide, I would estimate the water is 10-15 feet deep but calm--perfect for paddleboards) and then we went hiking in the afternoon in Acadia. Some evenings we would eat dinner in Bar Harbor or eat at one of the many lobster pounds on our way home. The house is about a 10 minute drive from a super Wal-Mart so you can easily stock up on the essentials. The grounds of the house were also extremely clean. We used the firepit every evening. The owners had plenty of cut wood for our use and they even had the pit filled and primed for the first night--all we had to do is throw a match on it! The place is great! The pictures don't do it justice. The glass wall faces due east and on my very first morning I sat on the deck and watched the sun rise. By far the best thing about this house are the owners. We have been staying at VRBOs for about 10 years. These owners were the best we've ever dealt with! We would love to come back and stay at this property.

        Beautfiful Home/Peaceful Location

Cove's End is a gorgeous log home, very spacious with all the amenities you will need! It is right on the cove, so waking up to the beautiful view was amazing. We enjoyed coffee on the large, wraparound deck every morning. It is about 25/30 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, so we did do a lot of driving back and forth, but wanted to be away from the crowds and truly enjoyed the peaceful, serene location. (FYI, the last week in June was perfect time to go, there were no crowds:) Acadia National Park is stunning. some of the most beautiful scenery we have ever seen. And the owner was great to deal with, extremely nice and helpful. Definitely recommend!
