Big salmon & great hosts on Moosehead Lake!

        5 of 5
Lori and John are the best hosts on Moosehead Lake! Our ice fishing crew had a great time and caught lots of salmon, brook trout and togue (3x salmon were 18", 19", 20"). John pointed us in the right direction for ice fishing and Lori even made us cookies. The apartment is brand new and every aspect is spotless. We fit 4 adults comfortably and the pull out bed underneath a twin bed provides for a fifth. Plenty of sofa space and lounge chairs, bath towels, dishes, cooking pans, and cable TV. The opportunity to store ice fishing equipment in the heated garage downstairs was a big bonus for drying out and gearing up each morning. I've been a Maine Guide for years and hosted and produced a fishing/hunting TV show visiting dozens of lodges throughout North America and you won't find a better place for less. Rockwood is an incredible base to jump in any direction to world class fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, ATV riding, hiking, and boating. Thank you Lori and John!

        Wonderful Camp On Sebec Lake

        5 of 5
We loved staying in the bunk house for our vacation, but calling this a bunk house does not do it justice. It's really an entire camp with a private porch, driveway, and access to the lake. Mainer call this a camp, but if you're from another state you would call it a cottage or a cabin. It's a lovely place to stay on Sebec Lake. It's close to Sebec Village, Dover-Foxcroft, and Milo. This part of the lake is so peaceful and secluded - a great place to get away from the city. Having lived in the area, it was very convenient for us to visit with family. There is all you need there to cook and eat at the camp, but we didn't cook much during our stay because we went to eat at all my favorite restaurants in the area in between family gatherings. There is a warm gas fired fireplace that really heats up nice on a chilly morning and there are windows and fans all around for ventilation on warmer days. The beds were comfortable and clean. There were dishes and cooking pans, a huge fridge, a good bathroom, a TV with a DVD collection, books to read...everything you'd need. In all this was the ideal place to stay for our trip - I'd say a better place to stay than any hotel within 50 miles or more.
