                        Acadia Cabin

                        5 of 5
This cabin was great stay for my family. The cabin is well equipped and beautifully decorated. It is located in a secluded country setting with a view of the bay. It is about an hour drive from Desert Island, and 25-20 minute drive to Schoodic Point. Vicki met us when we arrived and provided us with all the support needed to make our vacation a great success. The cabin was very homey and comfortable. We looked forward to returning each night for a relaxing family evening. The gardens were gorgeous. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay that is close to all sights. We will definitely stay here again when we are visiting this part of Maine.

                        HOLY SMOKES!!! Words cannot express...

                        5 of 5
We were hoping the pictures in this listing were accurate but what we found was an amazing surprise! As beautiful as the pictures in the listing are, they do not do the property justice! The property was amazing, the house was amazing, the views were amazing, the amenities were great. We played ping pong for hours. We sat on the back deck, drank coffee/wine and viewed the ocean for hours as the sun set and as the sun rose. We watched the fog dissipate and the islands in the distance become visible. We watched the lobster boats empty their traps, the chipmunks and red squirrels battle for territory, and the hummingbirds eat from the feeder. We became acquainted with the Lobster Coop (co-op) and toured Winter Harbor which was less then 5 minutes away. We ate a great meal at Chipper's restaurant (reviewed on Trip Advisor) and we felt at home in the Krasner cabin. It was a very special family trip and the foundation was the house. Bar Harbor was less then an hour away and was totally worth the trip. I highly suggest hiking trails in the part of Acadia National park on the Schoodic Peninsula. It was so much less crowded than the MDI section. The rangers were very polite and there weren't any lines. 7 nights, 21 lobsters cooked and a host of memories to take back to the city with us equals a very successful vacation. Thanks to the Krasners for letting us share in their house. It was nothing short of fantastic.

                        Great Cabin

                        5 of 5
This cabin in beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. It's clear that the owners put a lot of care and attention into the details to give it a high-end, comfortable and very "Maine" feeling, down to the light switch plates. The kitchen is more than adequate, the beds are comfortable and the rain shower head is great! Acadia is an easy 40ish minutes away. The weather wasn't ideal so we didn't get to use the kayaks (cool and rainy) but it looked like a beautiful spot to get out on the water. I bet the fireplace is great in the winter, too! A couple of notes: The cabin is located on US 1 which means that it's easy to get to places but you will hear road traffic. It wasn't overly loud and wasn't a deal breaker for us but if you're looking for a cabin tucked away in the woods where you only hear wildlife this might not be for you. The water is well and had a very strong iron odor and taste so you should consider bringing bottled water.
