This houseboat is our family's favorite vacation

      5 of 5
After staying on the houseboat 2015 and 2016 Labor Day it is now our family's annual event. Getting to the boat is journey of its own driving beside the river was a plus. We found the location easily with the directions provided by Linda along with a phone number if needed. Our family was greeted with a smile by the house manager which made us feel welcome. All of our questions about our stay and the surrounding area were answered along with phone number by house manager. This year was a 2 week stay and both ladies texted in middle of week checking if there was anything we needed. All arrangements to stock and change linens was at my convenience. The cabin area was comfortable for my 5 grandkids and 5 adults to enjoy breakfast and lunch together. The bedrooms are small but the beds offered everyone a goodnight sleep. The kitchen and bathrooms are stocked with extras. The top deck is very spacious and has covered seating making sitting enjoyable any time of day. We enjoyed grilling out and the hot tub on top deck in the evenings. A real treat for our family was the alligator that lives across the river nicknamed ,Garland, by neighboring boat owners. Garland, swam across every morning and evening and hung out a safe distance from lower deck. I must admit we enjoyed his visits and it was a bonus to watch him eat bread. At least once a week a grandchild will" ask when are we going back to the little boat [pontoon] with the big boat [houseboat]". Questions like that are priceless. I am a happy grandma when the grandkids set off on adventures with their papa and return with memories that will last a life time. While vacationing this time we did enjoy eating at Rita Mae's it's very home style and we will go back again. Another place I recommend is Suzie's not only is the food good but the owner is very friendly and made as feel welcome. As I said we will be back 2017 and looking forward to making family memories for all. Thank you Linda for being so kind and sharing your lovely houseboat with my family. Lila
