Monika and her family were of great help with everything since even before our arrival, giving us advice and preparing the place according to our specific needs. The flat was located in a very calm and cozy neighborhood and had everything we needed for our stay, from clean towels to a packed pantry, and even arranged some tea and pretzels for our arrival after the long trip. Me and my dog had a wonderful time walking the calm streets of this beautiful suburb which was a mere 2 blocks away from the forest, ideal for a morning walk or doing some exercise, and getting to the city center for other activities was really easy as the S-Bahn station was just a couple of blocks away and the trip took only around 15 minutes. For a bit more town-like experience, the Grafelfing stop (one stop in the direction away from the center) was just perfect, with many cafes and little shops along the main street.
For supplies, there was a supermarket and a pharmacy right next to the S-Bahn station, and a nice bakery and cafe just one and a half blocks from the flat.
It was an amazing experience, we felt very welcome in this nice place and totally recommend it!
This is an amazing old estate, being repaired and worked by the original family (after it had been confiscated historically and recently regained). If you enjoy history, you will enjoy exploring these extensive grounds and old buildings. The kids loved the animals. (This is a working farm as well) Our rooms were large, comfortable, clean and quite nice with a modern bathroom teamed up with some period furniture which added to the sense of history.. We were provided most everything we needed. It did not have a freezer, but our hosts kindly froze our cooler packs for us.
Our hosts made us feel, not like renters, bit like friends - so much I felt that same ache in leaving. They even helped me repair my shoe!
My only regret is that we didn't have more time here.
